As part of our growth, we are looking for someone to own the accounting function with technical depth and an AI-native mindset. This role is built for a specialist who is excited to apply AI within finance — someone who brings accounting judgment to a complex SaaS and services revenue model and builds scalable processes. Your mindset is: how do I leverage agents, not people, to achieve exceptional accounting work?

Team: This is an IC role reporting to the Director of Finance.

What you’ll do:

• Close & Financial Reporting Drive a close that requires less human effort every cycle. Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close. Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

• Accounting Operations Build and maintain an AI native full-cycle accounting function — AP, AR, GL, payroll, ASC 606 revenue recognition across a hybrid SaaS and services model, and equity and stock-based compensation accounting.

• Controls, Compliance & Audit Design internal controls and accounting policies that are built into the system, not layered on. Maintain continuous audit-readiness. Coordinate external audit and tax engagements including multi-state and sales tax compliance.

• Systems & Data Architecture Enable better insight and faster decisions. Partner on the design of accounting data architecture — dimensional structures across departments, products, customers, and business lines. Continuously evaluate and improve the accounting tooling stack.

• Automation & AI Deploy and manage AI agents and automation as micro-employees to systematically remove manual work from the function. Your default question should be: can an agent do this before a person does?

Who you are:

Must-haves:

• AI-first mindset: Ability and desire to fundamentally rethink how accounting work gets done using AI and automation

• CPA required

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience

• ASC 606 expertise in a SaaS or professional services environment

• Experience designing accounting processes that balance compliance rigor with operational speed

• Strong desire to achieve a zero-day close

Nice-to-haves:

• Public accounting experience

• Startup or high-growth experience within SaaS

• Equity accounting and stock-based compensation in a VC-backed environment, and experience in multi-entity accounting

• Familiarity with modern finance tools (Rillet, Ramp, or similar)

Compensation

Salary: $145,000 – $160,000 based on experience
