About Method Security

Method Security is dedicated to reshaping cybersecurity in an era where AI-driven threats are growing rapidly. Our mission is to defend critical institutions—such as government, defense, and key commercial sectors—against these sophisticated threats by building cutting-edge, autonomous defense solutions. We bring together expertise in AI, cybersecurity, and software to create products that seek to finally shift the advantage in security from offense to defense.

Our Team and Values

Joining Method means becoming part of an elite, mission-driven team that values innovation, transparency, and high standards. We work with purpose, embracing diverse perspectives and experiences while maintaining a high bar for quality. Our team is built around trust, efficiency, and respect. We’re committed to creating an environment where everyone can contribute meaningfully. We believe in small, focused teams capable of tackling complex challenges and achieving outsized results. At Method, you’ll have the autonomy to drive projects forward, the support to navigate challenges, and the opportunity to shape the future of cybersecurity.

Role Overview

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Method Security, you will bring world-class engineering talent directly into the environments where our most critical users operate. You’ll embed with high-value customer teams, sit alongside them as they encounter real operational pain, and rapidly translate those insights into product. This is a deeply technical role: you will ship code daily - while navigating mission constraints, earning user trust, and pushing the boundaries of what the Method platform can do. Acting as Method’s engineering tip of the spear, FDEs identify valuable and repeatable workflows in the field, validate them through working prototypes, and channel those insights back into the core platform. Your work directly expands Method’s capabilities and ensures that our most sophisticated users feel understood, empowered, and supported by the product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embed with users on-site to observe workflows firsthand and internalize their operational context.

  • Rapidly prototype and iterate on new product capabilities based on real user pain and opportunity.

  • Commit high-quality code that extends and strengthens the Method platform.

  • Identify valuable, repeatable workflows and validate them through working software.

  • Communicate clearly and frequently with the engineering team on hypotheses, tradeoffs, and blockers.

  • Navigate customer constraints—access controls, environmental restrictions, and security requirements—to build trust and unlock deeper workflows.

  • Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Security Engineers, and Mission Operations to refine insights and transform prototypes into scalable product abstractions.

Qualifications

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production systems.

  • Ability to rapidly understand new domains, customer workflows, and operational environments.

  • Demonstrated experience owning projects end-to-end—from discovery to deployment.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey insights and technical decisions concisely.

  • Comfort operating autonomously and making informed decisions in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Nice to Haves

  • Exposure to distributed systems, backend development, or full-stack engineering.

  • Interest in security competitions, CTFs, or related technical pursuits.

  • Experience navigating secure facilities or constrained deployment environments.

  • Prior experience in a forward-deployed, field engineering, or embedded engineering role.
