Creative Director
Harbor Health
POSITION OVERVIEW
Harbor Health is seeking a Creative Director to lead our brand vision and execute work that defines how Harbor shows up across all touchpoints. This is a true player/director role where you'll own Harbor's brand expression end-to-end—web, print, photo, video, presentations, in-clinic materials—while being both the champion of what the brand should be and ensuring consistent execution. You'll design key assets yourself and engage external partners for higher-production moments. Collaborating across Member Experience, Design, Marketing, Product, Clinical, Operations, Insurance, and Sales teams, you'll ensure our brand manifests consistently and conveys our message both internally and externally.
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Ownership & Execution
- Own Harbor's brand expression across all channels including web, app, print, social, email, clinics, sales collateral, events, and campaigns
- Elevate Harbor's brand recognition through design that improves clarity, trust, and distinctiveness
- Translate brand strategy into world-class creative execution with memorable visual and emotional cues across channels
- Develop strategy and execution plans to rebrand Village Medical clinics while minimizing member impact and remaining fiscally prudent
Creative Leadership & Production
- Function as high-agency player/director: ship key work yourself while driving outcomes through clear direction and collaboration
- Set creative standards and guardrails for brand expression including visual direction, layout systems, typography, imagery style, iconography, and motion
- Build lightweight guidance enabling teams to execute consistently
- Design and execute high-impact assets including marketing site pages, landing pages, campaigns, print materials, presentation systems, board/investor decks, and campaign toolkits
Vendor & Partner Management
- Direct and produce high-production moments requiring external partners (photo/video shoots, editorial content, motion/animation, illustration)
- Write briefs, creative treatments, and storyboards
- Select and manage vendors with strong taste and specific feedback
- Build and manage flexible bench of external talent (freelancers, agencies, photographers, illustrators, editors, animators)
- Make strategic decisions on internal execution vs. external resources, balancing time, resources, and expertise
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Run high-signal creative reviews with stakeholders across departments
- Drive decisions and ensure work ships on time without brand dilution while introducing creative ideas that elevate the brand
- Partner with Product Design to ensure cohesive digital experiences across website and member portal/app
- Collaborate with Marketing team on campaign creative, lifecycle content, and go-to-market assets
- Extend brand into physical clinic spaces through signage, wayfinding, environmental graphics, and printed touchpoints
- Enable internal teams with on-brand systems including templates, slides, asset libraries, and guidelines
DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required:
- 8-12+ years in brand/visual/creative roles with demonstrated success as hands-on maker who can also lead with direction and influence
- Portfolio demonstrating exceptional craft and range including strong brand systems, web and digital marketing design, and presentation design
- Proven ability to execute: shaping stakeholder input into briefs and delivering shipped, on-brand artifacts
- Strong creative judgment and point of view with ability to articulate quality standards and provide precise feedback
- Deep proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Workspace, and other tools for web, print, and presentations
- Comfort building reusable systems including templates, libraries, and toolkits
- Experience directing external partners: scoping, briefing, negotiating, art directing, and controlling quality across deliverables
- Comfortable with cross-functional collaboration in regulated, high-stakes environment balancing brand excellence with speed, accuracy, and operational constraints
Preferred:
- Experience in healthcare or strong interest in learning the industry
- Technical skills in motion, illustration/vector, and/or video
