Harbor Health looking for a collaborative Pharmacy Technician to become a member of our team! The Pharmacy Technician will be a positive team member with a passion for preventative healthcare who will work with the core pharmacy and clinical team in a non-traditional Pharmacy Technician role to monitor and improve patient adherence to medication. The Pharmacy Technician will be able to communicate in a positive manner with clients and/or their caregivers to gather information about prescribed medications and adherence to them. The Pharmacy Technician will also be responsible for data collection and analyzing data to demonstrate outcomes and other in-scope duties as outlined by the organization.

Our Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for:

  • Collaborates with Pharmacy Director, and Information Technology staff to develop workflow and efficiency in data gathering either manually or with the use of cutting-edge technology to document and improve medication initiation and adherence.
  • Interviews patients and/or family members to obtain and document information about newly prescribed medications and adherence to their documented regimen along with documentation of reported side effects or nonadherence.
  • Triages medication information from client and relays to appropriate clinical staff
  • Develops workflow to achieve efficiency within the clinic system
  • Collaborates with Pharmacy Director to perform data collection and develop metrics to demonstrate outcomes and other tasks as requested
  • Participates in special projects and performing other duties as assigned

Successful Pharmacy Technicians will have:

  • Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician credentialed and in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy prior to hire date
  • Minimum 5 years of retail or hospital experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • High School Diploma or equivalency

Additional Skills & Experiences Preferred include:

  • Medication reconciliation experience
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint or similar software packages and ease with technology
  • Experience with patient financial assistance programs and patient advocacy
  • Bilingual (Spanish proficiency)
  • Ability to understand and navigate EMR platforms

Physical Requirements of the role include:

  • May require travel between clinic sites
