About Zego

We’re a commercial motor insurer on a mission to save people time and money. From scooter delivery riders to private hire taxi drivers, our customers are our driving force. We’re making insurance fairer and more human for every one of them.

When we started back in 2016, we knew that traditional insurance held businesses back. It was too complicated, too expensive and too time consuming. So we set out to change things, building insurance solutions that empower professional drivers throughout the UK and Europe.

So far, we’ve raised over $200 million in funding. We’ve grown from a scrappy start-up into an industry changing organisation, and there’s plenty more to come.

That’s where you come in…

Purpose of role

Reporting to the Third party and Complex Claims Manager, the Claims Handler will manage their own portfolio of motor cases, focusing on claims exceeding £100k including losses for injury, credit hire, vehicle and property damage. This position requires not only excellent communication and negotiation skills but also a deep understanding of liability, indemnity, and quantum issues to effectively drive down claims costs while ensuring fair compensation for injured claimants. The role also involves handling large loss claims and acting as a technical referral point to provide coaching, mentoring, and training to the claims handling teams.

What you will be doing

  • Manage a personal portfolio of complex and high value motor cases.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, witnesses, insurers, repairers, solicitors, and medical agencies to expedite claim resolutions.
  • Serve as a technical expert within the team, offering guidance and support in large loss scenarios.
  • Maintain Reinsurer and carrier relationships through timely and accurate updates.
  • Participate in strategic projects to keep the team at the forefront of industry trends and performance.

What you will need to be successful

  • Proven experience handling all types of motor claims, specifically those in excess of £100k.
  • Strong knowledge of indemnity and liability, familiar with Civil Procedure Rules, Serious Injury Guide, The Rehabilitation Code, and litigation procedures.
  • A passion for a career in Large Loss, with a commitment to ongoing technical development.
