Purpose of the Role

As a Delivery Manager at Zego, you will be an individual contributor and you will play a crucial role in driving the successful execution of high-quality projects that align with the company’s strategic goals. Your leadership in managing cross-functional projects, optimising resources, and ensuring timely delivery directly contributes to Zego's growth and competitive edge. By managing stakeholder expectations, and mitigating risks, you ensure that each project not only meets its objectives but also delivers significant value, fostering continuous improvement and innovation within the organisation.

What you’ll be working on:

Project Leadership:

  • Lead and manage multiple delivery projects from initiation to completion.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
  • Have the ability to identify projects running off course and make the necessary adjustments (React quickly, ensure stakeholders are aware, get scope reduced, increase resource capacity) to get back on track and deliver as expected
  • Foster a collaborative and productive environment within the various project teams.

Team Empowerment:

  • Empower project teams to take ownership and accountability of their work and make informed decisions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation not only within the teams but to the delivery value stream as well
  • Measure and record the effectiveness of the more established delivery teams from Lead Time to Flow Efficiency and report to senior management pain points and plans to reduce inefficiencies

Stakeholder Management:

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand project requirements and expectations - further to Product Managers
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure continuous alignment with project goals.
  • Provide regular/daily updates on project progress, risks, and issues.

Resource Management:

  • Expected to engage and negotiate with line and Product Managers to handle resource constraints effectively
  • Optimise the use of available resources to achieve project goals.
  • Ensure the project teams have the necessary tools and resources to succeed.

Value Delivery:

  • Ensure projects deliver significant value to the company and align with strategic objectives.
  • Measure and report on the impact of delivered projects.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and deliver greater value.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure successful delivery.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential issues.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving.

What success looks like

As the Delivery Manager, you will maintain a strong working relationship with Product Managers and Tech Leads, providing essential support to facilitate their roles effectively. You will deliver daily reports on project progress, tailoring data and insights to the needs of the audience. By adopting proactive strategies, you will ensure that project teams are fully empowered, well-informed, and free from any blockers.

Additionally, in this role you will articulate the value of projects and devise innovative strategies to realise this value early in the project lifecycle. You will be clear on the high-level technical implementations and understand how these affect project dependencies. You will proactively engage in risk mitigation by being fully updated on project developments and you will take full ownership of the projects that you oversee and regularly reflect on and improve performance.

You will also be key in identifying and eliminating waste and have a constant proactive approach to creating/maintaining the flow of delivery.

Key measures of success

  • Lead time - Month by month measuring and improvement of project lead times resulting in an overall 25% reduction in the first 6 months
  • Project success rate - 90% of projects achieve the initial goal/objective that was intended. A DM will also be able to clearly articulate the project goal and how it impacts on Zego’s current OKR’s
  • Estimation accuracy - 85% of projects are delivered within the estimated timeframe. Timeframes will be agreed upon with technical leads and product managers prior to the project starting.
  • Delivery Artefacts - 100% of delivery documentation and process is completed for each project


Experience required

  • You will have proven significant & demonstrable experience as an effective and impactful Delivery Manager, managing complex multi team projects through the entire lifecycle - from brief to delivery.
  • You will have gathered a depth of knowledge and implemented a wide range of agile methodologies/frameworks and understand the benefits of each. You will also be able to quickly implement the best approach for a project and be able to vary your approach depending on the type of work and individuals on the team
  • You will have an extensive understanding of product domains and IT delivery management as well as working with technical leaders to understand the technical constraints within skill sets and domains.
  • As a self-starter you will be able to create momentum in projects with minimal direction. You will also be able to display critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • You will have proven, significant & demonstrable experience in defining business requirements and additional scope for change orders and expansion
  • You will have strong experience working in multidisciplinary teams building multiple products concurrently
  • You will have extensive experience utilising various practices to enhance workflow and efficiency. Your expertise will include visualising workflows, setting and achieving delivery milestones, conducting retrospectives and post-mortems, managing work in progress, and analysing flow metrics. Familiarity with tools for project management and workflow tracking, such as JIRA, BusinessMap, ClickUp, Trello, and Asana, is essential.
