The role

As EICL’s Head of Risk and Compliance, you will support EICL’s MD and Board of Directors with all aspects of risk and regulatory management, compliance and regulatory interaction.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

  • Liaise with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission on day to day matters on behalf of the business.
  • Provide advice and analysis on any proposed changes to the business, specifically in relation to Section 83a of the Financial Services Act.
  • Build, implement and maintain a Compliance Monitoring Plan to cover all relevant areas of the business.
  • Maintain and update all key logs, including compliance breaches, regulatory communications, board attendance.
  • Review, maintain and update all key policies and procedures relating to compliance, including conflicts of interest, anti-bribery, data protection.
  • Manage risks or controls for the risk and compliance function as detailed in the risk register.
  • Carry out fitness and propriety assessments of all Directors, committee members and outsourced service partners.
  • Support the leadership team with the completion of the ORSA, SFCR, RSR including engagement with the regulator.
  • Attend the Board of Directors meetings, relevant committees and monthly business review meetings, providing risk and compliance insights and challenge.
  • Be the Regulated Individual for the Head of Risk and Compliance position with the regulator.

What you will need to be successful in the role:

  • At least 7 years experience of working within risk and compliance within the insurance / financial services industry.
  • Experience of working with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission.
  • You’re a proven leader.
  • You excel at communicating.
  • You are comfortable navigating shifting priorities.
  • You demonstrate value through building compliance led relationships with third parties.
  • You are an excellent communicator, confident articulating your ideas and perspectives individually and across the organisation.
  • You are analytical and able to draw extensive insights from qualitative and quantitative data.
  • You are commercially savvy and enjoy the challenge of adapting to the evolving needs of an ambitious, high-growth business.
