About Wordsmith

Most legal teams are drowning. They’re buried under internal questions, contract reviews, policy approvals, and fire drills from every corner of the business.

Wordsmith is the AI command center for in-house legal. We automate the chaos—intake, Q&A, redlines, drafting, and research—so legal can finally operate at the speed of business.

Backed by Index Ventures and some of the sharpest minds in law and AI, we’re scaling fast across Edinburgh, London, New York, and beyond. Our customers include fast-growth tech companies and public enterprises. We’re building the future of legal work.

The Role

We're looking for an Events & Community Manager to build a repeatable, weekly events engine in NYC.

The goal is simple:

Create a consistent, high-quality in-person community — bringing together the right people, in the right rooms, and turning those moments into lasting relationships.

This is not a traditional admin or events coordinator role, this role is strategic in generating revenue pipeline generation.

You'll be the face of our New York presence — someone magnetic, deeply organised, and smart enough to run a room and own the process behind it.

What You'll Do

  • Own a recurring cadence of events in NYC (dinners, roundtables, breakfasts, small-group sessions)

  • Build repeatable formats and a rolling events calendar that gets sharper every cycle

  • Run end-to-end execution — venues, logistics, guest lists, on-the-day delivery

  • Be present at every event: welcoming guests and managing the room.

  • Build and maintain the Events Playbook so the process is documented, repeatable, and improvable

  • Keep the New York office organised, energised, and running smoothly day-to-day

What We're Looking For

  • Magnetic in person — you make people feel genuinely welcome and you elevate the energy of a room

  • Strong operator — you can run a high-frequency event cadence without things falling through the cracks

  • Deeply organised — you build systems, not just to-do lists

  • Confident facilitator — comfortable in engaging with a senior, discerning crowd

  • High ownership — you treat every event as if your reputation is on the line, and you debrief to get better every time

  • Smart and adaptable — you thrive in early-stage environments where the playbook is still being written

Experience in events, community, hospitality, or early-stage operations is a plus.

Why This Role Matters

If we get this right, in-person community becomes a core pillar of how we grow in the US.

You'll be building something from scratch — a repeatable engine for bringing people together and establishing our presence in New York.
