About The Opportunity
We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to help maintain and grow our tech platform that accelerates application engineers' productivity and operational excellence. The DevOps team enables the business to grow through systems, tools, and processes that support correctness, improve operations, adopt scalable system designs, manage costs, and improve engineering productivity.
As an engineer on Wonder's DevOps team, you will build new components of our DevOps platform, provide customer support, and drive automation. This work ultimately supports every area of our business—from the production of tens of thousands of meals daily to delivery to our customers.
The Impact You Will Make
Cloud Infrastructure: Navigating Google Cloud Platform (GCP) as our growing cloud environment, with secondary familiarity in AWS or Azure.
Containerization & Orchestration: Building and deploying containers to production, specifically utilizing Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) or similar modern orchestration systems.
Database Management: Proficiency in relational and document databases; we currently utilize PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cloud Spanner/Bigtable.
Automation & CI/CD: Designing and implementing tools to automate developer needs, such as Google Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins for seamless application deployment.
Infrastructure as Code: Utilizing tools like Terraform or Pulumi to manage scalable cloud resources.
Collaboration: Working directly with Software Engineers to improve code quality, optimize system design, and accelerate the development lifecycle.
What You Bring to the Table
Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Background: 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related software engineering roles.
Technical Skill: Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Go, or Java).
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues and excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams.
Developer Experience: Building platforms that enable application engineers to efficiently deliver tech solutions without friction.
Clean Engineering: Writing code that is clean, well-documented, and easy to iterate on.
Operational Excellence: Achieving high standards in the development lifecycle through proactive monitoring and performance tuning.
Quality Assurance: Maintaining high integration and unit test coverage to ensure confidence in every ship.
Self-Service Empowerment: Using automation and documentation to empower developers to be self-sufficient rather than dependent on the DevOps team.
Our hybrid model requires 3 days a week in the office. That said, many team members choose to come in more often to take advantage of in-person collaboration and connection. You're welcome—and encouraged—to be in the office up to 5 days a week if it works for you.
