About The Opportunity
Grubhub’s product team is looking for a technical, customer-focused Staff Product Manager to deliver world-class products that enable Grubhub Merchants to execute operations and grow their businesses. As a senior contributor to the Merchant team, your purview will span the many critical components of the Merchant experience, i.e., managing orders and menus in our platform, Grubhub for Restaurants, building new analytics capabilities for our Merchants, and partnering cross-functionally to grow our non-marketplace orders.

The ideal candidate is a data-focused product leader who has experience driving product strategy and execution on products leveraged by users nationwide. You will collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels across the organization including Senior Leadership. In addition, the ability to work backwards and think from a customer perspective is crucial.

The Impact You Will Drive

  • Craft and define the vision, strategy and plan for your areas of Merchant Product with product leads and the engineering team. You will be responsible for Grubhub for Restaurants Orders & Menus, Promotional & Operational Analytics, and non-marketplace order supply growth.

  • Be an expert on the customer, conducting market research, competitive analysis and customer interviews, in partnership with UX, UXR and Analytics, to inform your product strategy.

  • Leverage data and analytics to inform your product decisions, and use your strong data foundations to inform the direction of the roadmap.

  • Evangelize your product direction by socializing roadmaps with key business stakeholders, creating forums for feedback, working with executive leadership to gather input and build alignment, and working with engineering, design and other teams to champion key projects.

  • Lead projects through the definitional stages, working to ensure that we're working to solve the right problem and have clearly articulated problem statements and goals identified. Partner with Engineering, Design and stakeholders to make sure the proposed solution solves the defined problem and goals.

  • Act as an owner, ultimately accountable for the execution of the project, working cross-functionally to unblock, pivot, and deliver results. Play a lead role in defining Go To Market strategy to ensure we achieve the desired goals.

  • Actively manage key stakeholders, including Directors & VPs. Ability to read the room and refine content / approach to best serve the audience (VP meeting vs. Director/SPM meeting).

What You Bring to the Table

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in software development leadership, product management, program management, or similar roles within an Agile environment

  • BA/BS

  • Ability to collaborate with C-level executives across broad organizations including technology, marketing, sales, operations, and finance

  • Direct experience with large-scale e-commerce platforms, A/B testing, web and native mobile application environments, and data analytics

  • Demonstrated experience working across the technology teams from UX, to data science and backend teams

  • Work independently to define complex problems, prioritize effectively and deliver quickly

  • ‘Work out loud’ to arrive at solutions collaboratively and iteratively

  • Think and communicate clearly, in a way that builds trust across functions and hierarchies

  • Superior communication skills, including the ability to crystallize and broadly socialize insights into partners needs that the partners themselves may not be able to articulate

  • Able to influence outcomes and people without reporting lines

  • Significant experience with SQL using queries, reports and dashboards coupled with strong analytical and quantitative skills using data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, drive action, and monitor product health

  • Manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with team members, while managing overarching priorities

  • Strong technical understanding for area of product development and demonstrates an advanced understanding at the architecture level

  • An innate understanding of technology and how to use it to deliver outstanding and innovative products is a must

  • Proven ability to develop and maintain financial plans
