About the role:
Wonder is seeking a dedicated, committed, detail-oriented and strategic Vendor Compliance Manager to join the Food Safety Team. This role will lead and maintain our supplier qualification and monitoring systems for all vendors that produce food and provide related materials for Wonder’s restaurants and consumers. This role ensures that all suppliers, distributors, and co-manufacturers meet Wonder’s internal food safety standards, regulatory requirements (FDA, FSMA, USDA, GFSI), and product quality and safety expectations.
The ideal candidate must have strong experience in supplier compliance, auditing, and risk-based verification programs as well as a proven ability to standardize and optimize documentation management for numerous vendors & suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement, manage, and improve Wonder’s Supplier Verification Program (SVP) in compliance with applicable food safety and quality standards.
- Maintain an up-to-date approved supplier list and documentation database (e.g., third-party audits Spec sheets, COAs, LOGs, Food Supplier Certificates, allergen declarations, certifications etc.,).
- Evaluate and approve new vendors based on established food safety and quality compliance criteria.
- Collaborate with Culinary Engineering (R&D), Procurement, QC, QIC teams and legal to qualify new suppliers and onboard them into the system.
- Track supplier compliance with documentation requirement and communicate performance to FSQA, Procurement & Governance leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor-related compliance issues or changes in the supplier approval program.
- Lead investigations into consumer and customer complaints related to product quality and food safety, ensuring timely resolution and enforcement of Wonder’s standards with vendors when issues arise.
- Work directly with suppliers and co-manufacturers to gather data, conduct root cause analyses, and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Perform supplier risk assessments and determine verification activities based on material type, history, and potential hazards.
- Manage the approval of new raw material skus in line with established vendor approval processes.
- Lead and/or support supplier audits, remote or on-site, and manage CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) follow-ups for suppliers.
- Collaborate with Procurement on monitoring supplier performance via supplier scorecards and KPIs such as delivery accuracy, non-conformance rates, and responsiveness.
- Provide training to internal teams on the supplier approval process.
- Stay up to date on regulatory changes and communicate key supplier requirements across departments.
- Prepare for and support third-party and regulatory inspections by maintaining compliant records and traceability.
The experience you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Supply Chain, Quality Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in supplier quality assurance, food safety, or regulatory compliance.
- Working knowledge of FSMA, GFSI schemes (e.g., SQF), HACCP, and food fraud mitigation.
- Experience with supplier portals, ERP systems, and document control platforms.
- Strong communication, negotiations, and organizational skills (verbal and written) with attention to detail.
- Certified Food Safety Auditor or PCQI certification, is a plus
- Experience in global sourcing environments in a plus
- Background in Food manufacturing (CPG, food & beverage, pharma, etc.) is a plus

Base Salary: $122,000
