About the role:

The Manager Land Use/Permitting will be a key member of the Governance team focusing on pre-construction diligence, land use policy analysis, entitlements tracking, and program development. The successful candidate will assist in managing third-party land use and diligence partners; analyze and report on applicable local and state permitting requirements for future Wonder locations; manage and report on land use board approvals including providing testimony on behalf of Wonder; and assist in building a robust, scalable land use and entitlements program. Wonder’s expansion plans include the entirety of the northeast and the mid-Atlantic in the near term, which will necessitate limited travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze local zoning and any other applicable regulations / policies as it relates to Wonders growing restaurant footprint including County, State, and Federal regulations if applicable
  • Review and assist in managing third-party pre-construction diligence partners
  • Provide summary zoning / regulatory analysis for any given site identified by the Restaurant Acquisitions Team and/or review analyses completed by third-party partners for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist and/or manage land use board approvals, including providing sworn testimony as a Wonder representative
  • Identify, review, and/or complete all Health Department, Engineering, Wastewater, Environmental, or any other applicable approvals required for new restaurant locations individually or in coordination with internal or third-party partners
  • Assist in coordinating approval processes with restaurant development team and third-party partners
  • Assist in building a robust, scalable land use and entitlements program with the goal of supporting a model for national growth

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in urban planning, public policy, or entitlements coordination
  • Bachelors Degree or beyond in urban planning, public policy or a related field
  • Ability to nagivate, comprehend, analyze and summarize land use regulations
  • Knowledge of the land use approval process
  • Experience in reviewing site plans and applying applicable regulations
  • Ability to think critically, prioritize competing priorities, and has flexibility of thought
  • Comfort in working a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational & interpersonal skills
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Experience w/ digital tools, e.g. Smartsheet, Jira, or propensity to quickly pickup new platforms

Compensation: $122,000
