Qualifications - Essential
- MS or PhD degree in bioinformatics, computational biology or related field.
- 3+ years of post-graduation experience, preferably in an industry setting.
- Solid Python programming skills.
- Ability to work in an HPC environment, preferably AWS cloud.
- Experience working with large genomics data.
- Experience with single cell genomics data.
- Familiarity with Linux based operating systems.
Qualifications - Desirable
- Familiarity with pipeline workflow languages (e.g. metaflow, snakemake).
- Experience with containerization (e.g. Docker).
- Familiarity with R.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform primary and secondary analysis of single-cell datasets, including read alignment, quality control, etc.
- Collaborate with wet-lab scientists to design experiments, troubleshoot data quality issues, and ensure smooth data handoff between experimental and computational workflows.
- Develop data processing pipelines for single-cell sequencing and other high-throughput genomics assays.
- Partner with software engineers to scale workflows in cloud environments and ensure reproducibility through containerization and pipeline orchestration.
- Communicate results and insights to cross-functional teams, including biologists, data scientists, and leadership.
- Stay current with advances in single-cell modalities and computational methods.
