About You
As a Research Associate at Vevo, you will be a founding member of our scientific team in South San Francisco working alongside an interdisciplinary team of cancer biologists, software engineers and operations specialists with expertise in cancer biology and drug discovery. As a meticulous experimentalist with an unwavering eye for detail, you'll help guide the advancement of our MOSAIC platform by developing and streamlining our mammalian cell culture processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with scientists to create best practices in tissue culture and cell line maintenance
- Prioritize and maintain organized record-keeping to track performance and health metrics of all cell lines
- Handle multiple cell lines simultaneously, ensuring vitality and continuous growth
- Interpret cell line health data, growth rates and other parameters and present to research teams
- Contribute to multiple high-value projects and manage diverse team interactions
- Engage with interdisciplinary teams to aide in effective decision making on processes and improvements
Key Skills
- Masters or Bachelor degree with 2+ years of industry experience in biology related areas
- Proficiencies in mammalian cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques, e.g., transfection, DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, immunofluorescence imaging, WB and ELISA
- Experience with liquid handling automation, and scaling of cell culture workflows is a bonus
- Capacity for quantitative and statistical analysis using common software tools (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Suite)
