The Cloudera Customer Applications and Technologies (CAT) team is looking for an energetic, focused & driven Backend Engineer to be a contributor to the systems, technologies and features delivered on Cloudera web properties.

As a Software Engineer you will:
Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and the Spring Framework
Contribute to the feature development lifecycle from requirements analysis through deployment and monitoring
Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver features and enhancements
Participate in code reviews, learning from senior engineers while also reviewing peers’ code
Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and production issues under guidance from senior engineers
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following team best practices
Support performance improvements and reliability efforts within existing systems
Document implementation details and contribute to improving team processes
We are excited about you if you have:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of professional Java development experience
Strong knowledge of the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, etc.)
Proficiency with SQL and relational databases (e.g., MySQL)
Solid understanding of REST API design principles
Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows
You may also have:
Experience with containerization and infrastructure tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
