A Cloudera Solutions Engineer is a customer-facing technical expert responsible for designing and architecting data and AI solutions using Cloudera's platform, working with customers on technical wins, and driving adoption through demos and proof-of-concepts. Key responsibilities include understanding customer needs, creating end-to-end machine learning and Generative AI (GenAI) solutions, delivering technical presentations, and collaborating with sales, product, and other internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Engagement:
    Partner with customers to understand their business and technical requirements for data and AI solutions.
  • Solution Design:
    Architect end-to-end solutions leveraging Cloudera technologies, covering data ingestion, transformation, governance, and machine learning.
  • Technical Leadership:
    Lead technical conversations and provide expertise in areas like MLOps, data science workflows, and GenAI integration.
  • Sales Process Ownership:
    Drive the technical aspects of the sales process from initial engagement to post-sales success.
  • Technical Demonstrations:
    Deliver engaging demonstrations, whiteboarding sessions, and proof-of-concepts to showcase the value of Cloudera's platform.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with sales, product, R&D, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure customer success and strategic growth.
  • Evangelism:
    Evangelize Cloudera's data and AI platform vision to various stakeholders, including data analyst, data scientists, ML engineers, and business leaders.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Technical Expertise:
    Strong hands-on experience in AI/ML, including model development, deployment, and MLOps pipelines.
  • Generative AI:
    Experience with GenAI models, frameworks, prompt engineering, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines.
  • Customer-Facing Experience:
    A minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, preferably in a pre-sales environment.
  • Cloud & Big Data Experience:
    Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies.
  • Communication Skills:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
  • Problem-Solving & Curiosity:
    Strong problem-solving abilities and a willingness to learn and stay curious.
  • Education:
    A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is typically required.
