Cloudera is recruiting for a talented, motivated, and passionate Senior General Ledger Accountant within our finance team in Cork.
The successful candidate will join the Cork Centre of Excellence Team, which consists of over 200 employees responsible for a wide range of areas including Fixed Assets, Treasury Accounting, Intercompany, Tax, Revenue Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis and a team of regional lead accountants across EMEA & LATAM.
You will be responsible for managing your assigned GL area (by jurisdiction) and providing excellent support to business partners. This is a key role in a dynamic environment with the potential for the role to develop further with additional responsibilities in line with business requirements.
As a Senior GL Accountant you will:
Be responsible for all accounting activities, including timely month end close, periodic (monthly & quarterly) balance sheet and income statement reviews and journal voucher preparation and posting
Liaise with Regional Leads and wider Accounting and Tax team to ensure that consistent processes are applied across all regions and that there is consistent treatment of corporate finance policies
Responsible for the preparation completeness, timeliness, and accuracy of the financial statements for your assigned EMEA subsidiaries and submission of same to relevant authorities.
Responsible for the preparation and booking of quarterly tax provisions and year end true up provisions for your assigned EMEA subsidiaries.
Responsible for the review of Corporation Tax Returns, generally prepared by external advisors, and submission of same in a timely manner to the relevant tax authority.
Maintenance of external income and transaction/indirect compliance (returns and payments), flowing into NetSuite.
Oversee the external local accounting/compliance firm to ensure that all regulatory compliance requirements are completed timely and accurately.
Support the local quarterly and annual audit related activities as well as international statutory audits.
Support the International month end, quarter end, and year end closing process and financial reporting packages.
Monitor and forecast cash, to ensure enough funds are available to cover all payments.
Work with Intercompany team to manage balances, settlements, and cash advances, and ensure we align with Intercompany agreement terms.
Working with Accounts Payable to resolve billing issues and ensure vendors are setup to be paid timely and accurately.
Manage the accurate and timely processing of all accounting transactions, including disbursements
Support the global monthly consolidation process.
Maintain compliance with the Company’s existing SOX and internal control processes.
Implement policies, standards and guidelines related to EMEA finance activities.
Liaise with Treasury, Payroll, HR, Equity, Legal, FP&A, Tax, and the Corporate Accounting teams to ensure day-to-day finance operational needs are met and assist in resolving issues and providing guidelines.
Mentor and support junior accountants and interns.
Participate and engage in upcoming projects & initiatives
Perform any other ad-hoc tasks/projects assigned on an as-needed basis.
Follow and comply with all company standards and relevant compliance requirements.
We're excited about you if you have:
A qualified accountant with a minimum of 6+ years relevant accounting experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.), preferably in a public company.
Strong foundation in accounting, monthly close, and financial reporting.
Working knowledge of local accounting regulations and compliance. US GAAP accounting experience preferred.
Ability to multi-task, be agile and work well in a dynamic environment.
Team player with strong communication, customer service, organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
Ability to meet deadlines, and to efficiently interact with various groups across the company as well as outside of the company.
Advance Excel skills.
Experience with NetSuite preferred.
