Account Executive (AE)

As an Account Executive (AE) at Verta, you will be the architect and overseer of the enterprise sales process with prospective clients. You are versatile, creative and self-motivated with experience running both smaller, higher volume transactional sales and larger, strategic sales cycles. You are an extension of our company and culture, showing enthusiasm for the impact of disruptive technology to drive change in the industry, coupled with professional experience shepherding prospects through a value-based process to invest in technology. As a key contributor to a growing startup, you will bring an “art of the possible” mentality of exceeding your given targets and not settling for the minimum. Instead, you will have the disposition of maximizing sales growth for the company with the excitement of being rewarded for it. The focus of the AE is on prospecting, closing, and expanding new business. The position reports to the company’s sales leader and has an opportunity to shape a growing sales organization.

The impact you will have:

  • Lend creativity and experience to help build out consulting-led sales aides/deliverables
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and confidence with fearless outreach to “cold” prospects
  • Capitalize on pent up demand for Verta, setting up appointments with contacts provided
  • Conduct initial “discovery” calls with prospects to assess needs and qualification
  • Build a territory plan with leadership by 30 days to outline a top list of priority accounts
  • Strong CRM hygiene i.e., use case, MEDDPICC (or similar), contacts, account notes
  • Learn Verta architecture and align prospects to Operational AI vision and ecosystem
  • Meet and exceed activity, pipeline, and revenue targets; expect to prospect in this role
  • Interface with partners where appropriate to develop strategy for joint pursuits
  • Lead with a customer first mindset and focus on business value and value realization

What we look for:

  • Prior relationships across Data Science, AI/ML, and IT important decision-makers
  • Startup hunger and self-sufficiency contributing in an imperfect, dynamic environment
  • A creator and problem solver; not dependent on others to make things happen
  • 5+ years of closing sales experience in 5-figure to 7-figure transaction amounts
  • Prior experience in AI/ML/data science, data / data engineering, Cloud, or SaaS sales
  • Knowledge of AI/ML ecosystem or ability to quickly learn new tech and value proposition
  • Ability to multitask prospecting, closing new accounts, and working existing accounts
  • Customer-first, respect for others, while exceeding sales KPIs and quotas
