- Building policies and processes that ensure the safety of our teammates and the broader Veho community, and comply with all applicable regulations
- Identifying and analyzing potential risks and hazards associated with our operations, and leading continuous improvement efforts to reduce risk
- Partnering with Program Management and our Process and Industrial Engineering team to ensure processes incorporate the appropriate safety frameworks for our operating teams
- Partnering with Learning & Development to provide our teams with the training required to implement
- Partnering with Procurement to ensure tools required to adhere to policies and execute process are provided
- Ensuring policy is understood and acknowledged across all levels of the organization
- Partnering with operating teams to ensure consistent policy adherence and process execution
- Maintaining open communication channels to address questions, concerns, and feedback
- Measuring performance and adherence to policies and process
- Conducting audits to identify non-compliance and implement solutions to reduce risk
- Partnering with local leadership to strengthen safety in our operations at the local level
- Coordinating safety-related incident response and investigation, as needed
- Partnering with cross-functional senior leadership to define and clearly communicate responsibilities and accountability frameworks that support our culture of safety
- Design and implement AI-powered workflows that meaningfully support the business
- Demonstrated passion for ensuring the safety and well-being of teammates, in and outside of reporting relationships
- 7-10 years of progressive safety leadership experience in warehouse and/or shipping and logistics operations
- Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement and exceptional project management
- Deep understanding of local, regional, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, FMCSA) and inherent drive to exceed the minimum/set the new standards
- First principles approach to building and implementing policies and processes by working directly with teammates and identifying potential gaps
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and build trust
- Strong commitment to cross functional partnership as the means to successfully build improvements
- Analytical rigor and ability to communicate complex issues in clear, succinct, and digestible ways
- Proficient in Google suite and/or Microsoft Office suite
- Willingness to work flexible hours to support our safety operations
- 50% travel to site locations required
