Orange County, CA, USA
Valinor is a new type of defense and government tech company focused on solving the problems others don't. Our model of centralized go-to-market and decentralized engineering lets us move fast: identify unmet needs, build right-sized solutions, and get products into the hands of users. While others chase the flashy problems, Valinor exists to solve the quiet, unaddressed ones, the small but significant problems that lead to cracks in the country's strength, stability, and security.
Backed by General Catalyst, Founders Fund, and Friends & Family Capital, Valinor was founded in 2024 and has strategic partnerships with Palantir, Anduril, and Helsing. We're building the dream team, and we want you on it.
About The Role
Valinor is seeking a Legal Operations professional to help our legal team stay organized, responsive, and effective as Valinor grows. This is a hands-on role spanning attorney support, contract and document management, and the day-to-day systems and processes that keep legal work moving. You’ll work closely cross-functionally across Valinor, bringing strong judgment, attention to detail, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
What You'll Do
Serve as a first point of contact for day-to-day legal requests, helping route questions, gather information, and keep work moving.
Support the legal team with document preparation, record keeping, research, filing, data requests, and other ongoing matters.
Maintain organized and accurate records for contracts, agreements, engagement letters, and other legal documentation.
Review and revise routine commercial agreements, including NDAs, vendor agreements, SaaS agreements, and engagement letters.
Coordinate contract execution, including signature collection, document storage, and ongoing management of agreement records.
Provide operational support to legal team across active matters and recurring legal work.
Operate cross-functionally across the Valinor ecosystem to support legal needs related to areas such as employment, procurement, compliance, and vendor management.
Help establish and improve practical processes for legal intake, document management, contract tracking, and other recurring workflows.
-
Support a range of legal and operational projects as the needs of the team and the company evolve.
What We're Looking For
At least 4-5 years of relevant experience in legal operations or as a paralegal, ideally supporting a technology company or technology clients.
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and keep track of the details.
Experience working with contracts and legal documents, including maintaining records, coordinating signatures, and managing agreements through their lifecycle.
Comfort learning and working in legal systems and tools, such as contract management, e-signature, matter management, and billing platforms.
Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
Clear, thoughtful communication skills and the ability to work effectively with attorneys and partners across the company.
A practical, service-oriented approach: you enjoy solving problems, making things easier for others, and finding ways to make recurring work more efficient.
Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift and you may need to take on work outside of a narrowly defined lane.
-
Current notary commission, or the ability and willingness to become a commissioned notary promptly upon joining.
