Meet Upside:

We created Upside to transform brick-and-mortar commerce. Our technology uses the sophistication of online retail—profit measurement, attribution, and incrementality—to provide users with more value on their everyday purchases and brick-and-mortar businesses with new, profitable customers. We’ve helped millions of users earn 2 to 3 times more cashback than any other product, and hundreds of thousands of brick-and-mortar businesses earn measurable profit. Billions of dollars in commerce run through the Upside platform every year, and that value goes directly back to our retailer partners, the consumers they serve, and important sustainability initiatives.

Meet the Product Analytics team:

The Product Analytics team is a collaborative group of data scientists, experimentation specialists, and analytics partners who use data to improve the Upside app experience and drive measurable growth. We're embedded across Upside’s consumer product team, where we shape strategy through deep analysis, robust experimentation, and thoughtful storytelling. We value curiosity, pragmatism, and a strong product intuition — always balancing speed with rigor to help Upside move faster and smarter. Our culture is inclusive, supportive, and grounded in the belief that great analysis starts with great teammates.

What you’ll do:

  • Support Consumer Product team with KPI reporting, setting OKRs, and preparing for regular product reviews

  • Shape the product roadmap through exploratory analysis and hypothesis generation grounded in our growth objectives

  • Conduct root-cause investigations and pre/post analyses to understand the “why?” behind user behavior and product performance

  • Contribute to forecasting by estimating and then measuring the revenue impact of product initiatives

  • Build intuitive dashboards and data products that bring clarity to complex user journeys and product KPIs

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to define, QA, and document events and properties that enable product analytics, ensuring robust instrumentation for experimentation and monitoring

  • Design, launch, and analyze A/B tests across the Upside consumer app in collaboration with product managers, engineers, and designers including clear test plans, power calculations, and experiment swimlanes

  • Bring curiosity, initiative, and strong product thinking to help us scale experimentation and analytics best practices across Upside

What you need:

  • 5+ years of experience in product analytics, data science, or experimentation - ideally within a cross-functional product team

  • Demonstrated ability to partner closely with business stakeholders to influence roadmaps and make data-driven decisions

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and/or Python to organize and analyze multiple large datasets - we use Snowflake

  • Comfort with data visualization tools - we use Looker and Hex

  • Familiarity with event-based product analytics and the art of defining meaningful events and properties - we use Figma, Segment, and Mixpanel

  • Experience designing, launching, and analyzing A/B tests — including power analysis, user bucketing, and success metrics - we use Optimizely

  • Thoughtful perspective on experimentation strategy and growth — you understand not just what happened, but why it matters

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — can explain statistical results to non-technical audiences and guide decision-making

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative environment — balancing rigor and speed while maintaining a bias for action

  • A collaborative, low-ego working style — you thrive in a team that values shared wins, deep curiosity, and candid feedback
