The Role

As the Director of PR (maternity cover), you will be vital in partnering with our executive team to craft external content that communicates our growth journey and enhances our brand through thought leadership. Your responsibilities will involve articulating our vision and strategy to establish TravelPerk as an authority in business travel, growing our brand awareness and reputation, and managing change during our expansion.

Collaborating with the Leadership and Extended Leadership, as well as the Marketing and Revenue teams, you will shape our culture and increase customer engagement by amplifying TravelPerk’s voice externally. This dynamic role requires a passion for insights-led storytelling, communication best practices, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will lead a growing PR team and have proven leadership experience building highly engaged teams.

This position is a 9-month maternity cover, providing you with the opportunity to lead our PR efforts and make a significant impact during this period.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop and deliver multi-market integrated PR campaigns that highlight, enhance, and improve our brand as a thought leader in the travel tech industry.
  • Develop comprehensive external communication strategies that convey our vision, values and objectives.
  • Build PR playbooks and craft compelling communication narratives to support internal stakeholders when speaking or presenting externally.
  • Establish a successful press office function, acting as a point of contact for leadership communication initiatives, ensuring effective messaging and delivery.
  • Create and implement a robust crisis communication strategy, including team training and development.
  • Prepare presentations and talking points for the executive team’s participation in media interviews, speaking events and PR engagements.
  • Develop success metrics to measure and report on the effectiveness of communication initiatives, monitor progress, and adjust strategies as needed.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, producing engaging corporate content, including presentations and industry reports.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing communication strategies for executive teams that mirror style, tone of voice, and brand.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to influence and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience landing Tier 1 business media coverage, including broadcast.
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills to measure and report on performance.
