About the Role

At ThoughtSpot, we're building the future of analytics with AI at the core. As a Member of Technical Staff, you'll join a team of world-class engineers working on technologies that power our next-generation analytics platform. From distributed systems and high-performance backend services to AI-powered search and natural language understanding, you'll work on challenging engineering problems at scale while learning from experienced mentors. This is an opportunity to build products that are used by some of the world's leading enterprises and make an impact from day one.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems that process large volumes of data with high performance and reliability.
  • Build production-grade software using languages such as Java, Go, Python, or C++.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of core platform components.
  • Improve the scalability, performance, and reliability of distributed systems.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, debugging, and problem-solving with experienced engineers.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong foundation in Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, and Software Engineering.
  • Good understanding of core Computer Science fundamentals, including Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Databases, and Distributed Systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C++, Go, or Python.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with a passion for building scalable software.
  • Curiosity to learn, ownership, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative engineering environment.
  • Internship, academic projects, or hands-on experience in backend systems, distributed systems, cloud technologies, or AI/ML is a plus.

In-Office at ThoughtSpot

Spotters are expected in-office 3+ days per week to be part of the energy of their local team. Mandatory And Required Skills For All ThoughtSpot Roles

Spotters are expected to demonstrate AI literacy and workflow integration to include to ability to:

  • Comfortably and confidently integrate artificial intelligence into their daily workflow to increase productivity and quality.
  • Hands-on experience to leverage AI tools (industry-leading LLMs) to increase productivity, automate routine tasks, and improve work quality.
  • Speak to the experience of using AI for research, content creation, and document summarization while maintaining ownership of judgment and final decisions.
  • Write effective prompts to get the most accurate and creative results from AI tools.

Spotters are expected to exemplify these key traits and AI Mindset:

  • Curiosity in exploring new AI tools
  • Adaptability to quickly learn and implement new, emerging AI technologies
  • Critical thinking to know when to identify when AI should be used versus when human judgement is necessary
