Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst serves as a strategic finance partner to FP&A and Technology leadership, driving financial transparency, governance, and cost optimization across the technology portfolio. This role leads end-to-end oversight of internal and external labor financial processes, including contractor/vendor invoice validation, labor rate management, and Opex/Capex classification to ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and compliance. Leveraging Apptio and other IT Financial Management tools, the analyst delivers actionable insights that support executive decision-making, operational efficiency, and disciplined financial governance.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Serve as a strategic partner to FP&A and Technology leadership to establish labor governance frameworks and deliver budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis that enable transparent reporting, strong financial controls, and aligned technology spend management

  • Provide monthly and quarterly reporting, variance insights, and scenario modeling to support investment decisions and cost optimization

  • Support long-range planning and workforce/vendor financial strategies

Labor Financial Governance (Primary Focus)

  • Own governance of internal and external labor spend across contractors, vendors, and Technology teams

  • Validate and reconcile vendor invoices, hours, and rates against contracts and approved rate cards

  • Maintain labor rate benchmarks and identify cost savings opportunities

  • Partner with Procurement and Vendor Management on negotiations and renewals

  • Ensure accurate Opex vs. Capex classification, capitalization eligibility, and audit readiness

  • Implement controls to reduce cost leakage, improve forecast accuracy, and strengthen accountability

Tools, Systems & Reporting

  • Manage technology cost transparency and allocations using Apptio (TBM Studio/Cost Transparency) or similar ITFM platforms

  • Develop automated dashboards and reporting in Power BI and Excel

  • Leverage Microsoft Power Apps and Power Pages to streamline financial workflows, intake processes, and reporting automation

  • Reconcile data across Apptio, ERP, and source systems to ensure financial integrity

Project & Portfolio Governance

  • Support project intake, business case evaluation, and financial governance processes

  • Track and forecast project costs, capitalization, and ROI

  • Partner with Technology, PMO, and Finance leaders to align financial controls with delivery outcomes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field

  • 5–8+ years of experience in FP&A, IT Finance, or Technology Financial Management

  • Direct experience with invoice validation, labor rate management, and Opex/Capex accounting

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and reconciliation skills

  • Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools

  • Experience with Apptio

  • Experience leveraging Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Pages, workflow automation) to improve financial processes

  • Strong stakeholder communication skills, governance mindset, and continuous improvement orientation
