We are looking for a Back End Software Engineer II who can contribute to the development, optimization, and scaling of our market-leading solution for athlete performance management. This role will involve working with real-time data ingestion from thousands of wearable devices, helping sports and military organizations make sense of complex data to drive better outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to analyze product needs and system performance, contributing to secure, scalable solutions.
  • Write, test, and maintain high-quality code for APIs, web services, and Java applications, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Participate in design and architecture discussions to develop scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Work on debugging and optimizing system performance while ensuring system reliability.
  • Conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards and provide constructive feedback.
  • Identify and automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Analyze and optimize database queries for performance and scalability.
  • Produce useful documentation for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise SaaS applications in Java and AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with Hibernate & Spring Boot for developing scalable backend applications.
  • Proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with authentication technologies such as SAML and OIDC.
  • Ability to write and maintain test suites to validate software quality and performance.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab or similar).
  • Understanding of software release processes and best practices in performance benchmarking and automation.
  • Experience working with Linux-based systems and performing basic server management.

  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code tooling (Terraform) with a mind to automate solutions where possible.
