Role:
The Chief of Staff to the Chief People Officer (CPO) provides Chief of Staff support to the CPO and serves as the execution lead for the People Team. As a strategic partner and trusted advisor, the role drives planning, prioritization, and operational excellence across (1) core People initiatives and (2) the CPO’s commercial enablement responsibilities.
The Chief of Staff will run the People Team operating cadence, maintain North Star metrics and scorecards, and manage the portfolio of key initiatives—including the AI and automation roadmap—so priorities are clear, aligned, and delivered with speed and accountability. The role also supports the Impatient Thought Leadership Platform, CHRO Advisory Board enablement, and key commercial engagements led by the CPO and Benefits Strategy Leader.

The People Team is focused on building a high-performance organization through commercial enablement and increasing talent density to accelerate growth, and delivering an AI-enabled people experience that improves the quality and speed of talent decisions.
The Chief of Staff plays a central role in ensuring planning, coordination and execution across People Operations, People Partners, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Benefits Strategy, the CHRO Advisory Board, the ExO team and the Impatient Platform cross-functional team.
What you’ll be doing:
People Team Strategy and Execution:
◦ Run the Impatient podcast engine end-to-end: topic ideation, research, content calendar, guest outreach/booking, prep, run-of-show, and talent coaching.
◦ Partner with Communications to develop and manage a focused social media strategy for the CPO that builds credibility for Impatient and strengthens Sword’s employment brand.
◦ Establish and manage an Impatient scorecard (reach, engagement, sentiment, guest quality, and commercial impact); manage production resources/budget and report results in simple, data-driven terms.
◦ Build and execute the CHRO Advisory Board recruitment and onboarding playbook.
◦ Design and run the CHRO Advisory Board engagement model with Commercial to support business development and strengthen go-to-market positioning and member value.
◦ Support planning and execution of CPO and Benefits Strategy Leader business development events, speaking engagements, and strategic networking.
Commercial Enablement:

What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in HR, business operations, strategy, or a related leadership role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret people data and translate insights into action.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to influence without authority and work effectively across multiple teams and levels of leadership.
- Proven experience managing complex projects and delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous situations.
- High discretion and judgment when handling sensitive people and organizational matters.
What we would love to see:
- Prior experience operating in a Chief of Staff, Consultant, Strategy or Program Management capacity.
- Experience working in high-growth or global organizations.
- Comfort with AI-enabled tools and interest in applying them to drive faster and better decision making.
- Strong executive presence and ability to represent the CPO in key forums.
