What will you do at SuperPlay?
Own the rigging domain for high-end 3D productions within our Creative Marketing team, while developing and supporting the technical backbone of our animation pipeline, enabling artists and animators to deliver cinematic-quality content.
Key responsibilities:
Rigging
- Create high-quality, production-ready rigs for characters and props, with a focus on complex deformation, flexibility, and animator control
- Own the rigging pipeline and define standards, workflows, and best practices for high-end productions
- Solve complex rigging challenges, including advanced deformation systems, facial rigs, and non-standard setups
- Work closely with animators and CG artists to ensure rigs and assets meet production needs, improve workflows, and maintain high quality
- Troubleshoot and continuously improve rigs based on feedback and production challenges
Pipeline
- Design, build, and maintain a scalable 3D production pipeline across modeling, rigging, animation, and rendering
- Develop tools, scripts, and automation to support efficient and high-quality workflows
- Define and enforce best practices for asset structure, naming conventions, versioning, and handoffs
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the production pipeline
- Document workflows and ensure knowledge is shared across the team
Who are you?
Must-Have:
- 3+ years of experience as a Technical Director, Character TD, or similar role in animation, VFX, or high-end production environments
- Strong hands-on experience in character rigging (Maya or similar tools)
- Proven ability to build complex, high-quality rigs with advanced deformation (face, body, props)
- Strong understanding of anatomy, deformation, and performance-driven animation needs
- Solid scripting skills
- Experience building or maintaining production pipelines
- Deep understanding of animation workflows in high-quality productions (cinematics / VFX / commercials)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a small, high-ownership team
- High level of motivation, ownership, and proactiveness
- Ability to receive and implement feedback, iterate quickly, and work in a collaborative environment
- Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
- An organized and structured approach to technical systems and production
Advantage:
- Experience in cinematic, VFX, or advertising production pipelines
- Knowledge of tools like MGear or similar rigging frameworks
- Familiarity with real-time engines (Unity / Unreal) for cinematic workflows
- Experience with version control systems (Git, Perforce)
- Familiarity with AI tools for content creation or workflow automation
