Super Evil Mega Corp seeks a 3D Environmental Artist in San Francisco, CA.

Duties:

  • Mapping out scenery elements in the custom game engine to help drive the story of the game

  • Creating prototypes and mock-ups in the early stages of production using Maya

  • Working with the enhancement of the player experience in mind

  • Modeling and texturing elements using Photoshop and Substance Painter

  • Use Maya, Substance Painter and Zbrush to model and texture game assets

  • Optimize environmental assets in Maya and custom game engine for performance improvement

  • Set up fog of war, collision and mesh tag in the game engine the level to make gameplay work functionally

  • Fix environment related bugs in game.

*May telecommute from anywhere in the US.

Requirements:

  • Position requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Game Development, Game Art & Design, or a related technical field.

    • Employer will also accept a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Game Development, Game Art & Design, or a related technical field and two years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

  • Must have knowledge in any amount that can be gained via education, coursework or experience with the following skills:

    • Building out full 3D environments using modular game assets in Maya

    • Hard surface polygon modeling using Zbrush

    • Building modular systems for environmental modeling

    • Setup fog of war, collisions, and other environmental gameplay needs in levels using custom engine tools

    • Create tileable and performant textures for 3D game assets using Substance Painter.
