About the team
Our Finance Operational Excellence team are strategic partners and change agents for Stripe’s senior Finance leaders. Our purpose at Stripe is to enable Stripe to focus on growth, by executing strategy better than our competitors. To do that, we coach, co-design, and co-lead changes to Stripe’s systems, processes, and ways of working.
What you’ll do
As an Operational Excellence Program Manager you will partner with Stripe leadership to set the direction for OE in Finance, develop a roadmap of initiatives and lead highly visible end-to-end improvements. You will develop deep knowledge of Stripe’s products and operations and build a perspective on end-to-end Finance processes, create alignment through shared objectives, and promote OE cross-functionally through consistent and outcome-driven communication. You will embed OE in how we work, building systems and capabilities to sustain our edge. You will change the future for Finance through simplification and digitalization in partnership with Engineering teams. The ideal candidate has demonstrated success applying lean / continuous improvement / operational excellence practices across multiple industries, models, and functional areas, can self-study to analyze, synthesize and recommend solutions to complex business problems, and is adept at organizing data to tell a story.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior Finance leaders to develop improvement strategies, aligning Stripe OKRs to specific process outcomes and organizing projects and OE principles to deliver on those
- Perform deep dives on end-to-end process, data and system flows, identify risks and issues, and apply process and technology solutions to transform how Finance works
- Develop and apply operational excellence toolkits for use in the OE team, along with training and enablement for our partners in their day-to-day work
- Create transparency and accountability for operational excellence within the OE team and with our partners, through Stripe’s management systems (QBRs, MBRs, OKRs) and daily practices
- Develop and nurture strong partnerships to understand specific business issues and priorities to effectively integrate operational excellence into Stripe Finance
- Champion the adoption and innovation of technologies like AI/ML and automation to augment decision-making, enhance insights, and reduce toil
- Rally cross-functional teams under a unified vision that drives collaboration, transparency, and growth
Who you are

Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or related fields required
- Minimum 5 years of proven operational excellence / continuous improvement / program management or management consulting experience, of which, 2+ years of experience working directly as a process analyst / process engineer
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills using process and data insights
- Demonstrated history of taking on various types of challenging projects and producing results through hands-on involvement in the work, in addition to facilitating and project managing
- Proven expertise in continuous improvement strategies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) applied in different domains in matrixed environments
- A track record as a trusted thought partner and advisor to senior leadership, creating actionable insights that move the organization forward
- Exceptional strategic problem-solving and analytical skills, capable of turning complexity into clear, actionable insights
Preferred qualifications
- Experience partnering with Finance functions on process and system improvement efforts
- Hands-on experience with AI, automation, and predictive analytics, transforming data into decisions that foster innovation and efficiency
- Designing and implementing lean management approaches, e.g. standard work, visual management, hoshin planning
- Experience with various project management (e.g. MS Project, Jira, Asana) and process collaboration tools (BlueWorks Live, PowerAutomate, Whimsical)
- Experience mapping data flows and transformations working with technical and business teams is highly desirable
- An MS or MBA degree is desirable
The annual US base salary range for this role is $133,800 - $200,700. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
