Product Manager, Stripe Tax
Stripe
Who we are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team
Stripe Tax makes global tax compliance effortless for businesses of all sizes—automating everything from registration to filing, so our users can focus on growth, not complexity. We’re solving one of the most painful parts of running an internet business and building tax infrastructure that scales with our users’ ambitions.
Now, we’re looking for a high-agency Senior Product Manager to lead the evolution of the Stripe Tax Dashboard experience and unlock the next phase of customer adoption and product quality.
What you’ll do
The Tax Dashboard is the front door to Stripe Tax—and a critical surface that defines how users experience tax compliance. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape a core product area, expand Stripe’s addressable market, and help businesses around the world handle tax with confidence. You’ll be responsible for driving improvements across the entire tax compliance lifecycle—Monitoring Insights, Registrations, Calculations, Collection, Filing, and Reporting—and accelerating customer adoption through product-led growth strategies. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, design, platform teams, Billing, Accounting, Dashboard, and Core Tech teams to make the Tax Dashboard surprisingly great for users—and a key driver of business growth.
This is a senior role with high visibility and broad strategic impact. If you’re excited by complex ecosystems, user-centered design, and product-led growth, this is your opportunity to build something truly impactful.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the long-term vision and strategy for the Stripe Tax Dashboard, covering the full tax compliance lifecycle
- Ensure that the Dashboard becomes a best-in-class interface for simplifying complex tax operations for users of all sizes
- Lead deep discovery efforts to understand user personas (e.g., developers, accountants, finance teams)
- Define and document the core jobs-to-be-done across each stage of the tax compliance lifecycle
- Translate insights into actionable requirements and elegant product experiences
- Develop and execute product-led growth strategies to increase adoption of Stripe Tax
- Design and run experiments to improve activation, engagement, and conversion within the Dashboard
- Own the end-to-end execution of improvements to the Tax Dashboard, balancing quick wins and foundational investments
- Prioritize effectively amid competing org priorities and platform dependencies—maintain a strong sense of urgency and high agency
- Define and track success metrics that reflect product quality, user satisfaction, and business impact
Who you are
We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
- You have 7+ years of product management experience, preferably in growth roles, B2C software, developer platforms, fintech, or enterprise SaaS
- You thrive in complex problem spaces, and you’re energized by turning ambiguity into action
- You’re a strong systems thinker with the ability to navigate cross-functional priorities and make smart trade-offs
- You lead with customer obsession, using insights and data to continuously improve product quality
- You have a track record of driving execution in high-stakes, high-impact areas—even when it’s not the top organizational priority
- You’re skilled at communicating across disciplines and levels, and you naturally build alignment across disparate teams
Preferred qualifications
- Familiarity with tax systems, financial compliance, or integration-heavy B2B products
This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.
A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.
The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €126,400 - €189,600. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
