About the team

The Communications team builds and protects Stripe’s brand and influence across the world. We’re looking for an experienced communications professional to deepen the understanding around the positive economic impact Stripe is having.

What you’ll do

We’re seeking a communications professional to join our world-class communications team to tell the story of our most interesting users and how their industries are transforming. The ideal candidate is curious, strategic, creative, and an excellent writer and storyteller. They’re a self-starter who’s interested in business, technology and entrepreneurship. They’re the kind of people who would discover new angles to talk about some of Stripe’s largest customers – from OpenAI to Hertz, or Pepsi –, unearth stories from some of the millions of businesses, and make sense of the transformations happening across entire industries.

Responsibilities

  • Find the very best stories of businesses using Stripe and write them up for the rest of the world to see
  • Tell those stories internally (in our regular fora) and externally (with the media and on social platforms)
  • Build relationships with hundreds of founders and business leaders across our user base, in over 50 countries
  • Write short and long form business and industry trends stories and publish them across various channels (social media, the Stripe blog, Substack, etc)
  • Develop and maintain a network of communications leaders with Stripe’s largest and most iconic customers, to infuse their voices into campaigns, news announcements, and other activities
  • Work in close partnership with the rest of our communications team, our global executive team, our industry experts, our go-to-market teams, and our marketing team

Who you are

Minimum requirements

  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Curiosity, creativity and great taste
  • 5-7 years of experience in journalism or communications, preferably in a technology, high-growth and/or financial services environment
  • Experience collaborating with executives, as well as sales, partnerships, marketing and policy teams
  • Experience working with a wide variety of partners on joint communications efforts
  • Relationships with key business and technology reporters, as well as analysts
  • An acute interest for the economy and experience working closely with large businesses, startups, and small businesses
  • A good understanding of social media, and how to engage influential stakeholders online

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is £72,000 - £108,000. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
