Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Partnerships Strategic Operations (PSO) team sits within the Global Partnerships organization and is a key component of Stripe’s success. The team is responsible for driving new partner implementations and programs and ensuring the efficiency and reliability of new and existing partners. We sit at the intersection of engineers and partners, serving as the fabric that ensures close and smooth collaboration between these parties, both of which are crucial to Stripe’s continued rapid growth. We wear a lot of hats. On any given day, you can find us, for example, driving alignment, coordination, and execution between cross-functional teams and partners on critical operational activities; identifying and investigating insights and trends from our data to inform decisions for streamlining the day-to-day management of our business; and building new tools and processes to scale our team’s impact. The partners we support have a significant impact on Stripe, and the products from these partnerships are used by millions of our users.

What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced manager to join our Banks team and lead a team of Partner Operations Managers who work across our global Banks pillar.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop and lead a team of Partner Operations Managers who work across the Global Banking pillar
  • Align with Partnerships, Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional leaders to properly meet the operational and technical needs of our Banks pillar
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Partner Managers to develop and execute reliability and SLA strategies to drive operational excellence
  • Develop relationships with executive counterparts at key partners and facilitate interaction between our Product and Engineering leaders and their counterparts within partner organizations
  • Be responsible for meeting and beating Partner Health metrics
  • Inspire, motivate and enable development of team members to promote career growth and impact for Stripe

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in program management, operations, or strategic project management in the payment/fintech industry (banks, networks and/or fintech startups in the payments space)
  • 4+ years in management and the ability to hire, train and coach a high-performing team of program managers
  • Experience in a high growth technology company
  • Strong product instincts and ability to identify opportunities for Stripe to leverage partners’ existing and in-development products, as well as the ability to collaborate with Stripe’s Product and Engineering organization to build world-class features for our users
  • Proven ability to successfully drive medium-to-large sized technical projects with external partners and cross-functional internal stakeholders
  • An understanding of product strategy and key requirements for scaling products and operations through partnerships, especially with a “users first” mentality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – including the ability to speak to different constituencies such as business development, product, engineering, and sales internally and externally
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in banking, e-commerce, or payments
  • Knowledge of and experience with payment technologies and ecosystem
  • Basic to intermediate SQL or API knowledge

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $232,000 - $348,000. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
