Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Help define and amplify the Stripe story and connect our products with users.

Our Product Marketing team’s mission is to generate customer insights that inform Stripe’s product strategy, lead go-to-market for our suite of products, and create and execute campaigns to drive product growth. Product Marketing is a highly cross-functional role at Stripe, partnering closely with Product and Engineering, Sales, Design, Developer Relations, and Communications to name a few. Different from many other Product Marketing teams, our team works across the entire product lifecycle, from helping shape the product, to driving launch and commercialization, to growing product adoption post-launch.

Stripe’s Revenue and Finance Automation suite covers several products that help customers grow their revenues, and includes: Billing, Tax, Invoicing, Revenue Recognition and Reporting/Data products. Today over 200,000 customers leverage these products across verticals and segments. We’re looking for a solutions marketer to help us shape Stripe’s story around this suite of products, taking a lead role in our solutions messaging and sales enablement efforts. You’ll work across our audience segments to tell the story of how Stripe’s platform enables growth, better efficiency, business innovation, and more. You’ll partner with teams ranging from PMM to sales to demand generation to product to help create awareness and adoption and to elevate our overall messaging.

What you’ll do

  • Be a storyteller. You have deep empathy for users and are able to adapt how you communicate to best reach and engage your audience—from developer to CFO—and differentiate Stripe. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Lead with data. You like working with data and insights and pair that with your passion for users to generate balanced and thoughtful points of view for how to take our products to market
  • Keep things organized. You are able to manage highly interdependent, complex projects and keep various workstreams on track. You are able to manage highly interdependent, complex projects and keep various work streams on track
  • Have a passion for technology. You are keen to learn about how things work and are able to explain technical concepts in ways that everyday people can understand
  • Be Ambitious. You are eager to make an impact at Stripe. You thrive in a fast-moving, dynamic, hyper-growth environment and are able to operate fluidly between the 30,000-foot strategy level and the micro-detail to get things right
  • Act as team player. Product Marketers collaborate across the Marketing team and with basically every team at Stripe. You are able to work with a range of disciplines to execute on your work

Responsibilities

  • Understand our customers within our target segments and buyer personas (including by talking regularly with current and prospective customers), and serve as an advocate for their needs in order to shape go-to-market strategy
  • Become an expert in Stripe’s finance automation products (Billing, Tax, Invoicing, Revenue Recognition, etc.) and the use cases they address by segment, industry, and buyer persona
  • Develop solution messaging and positioning informed by user research, market insights, and product understanding
  • Understand our customer journeys, quantitatively measure the effectiveness of our marketing and sales programs in driving the outcomes we want to see, and analyze customer data to identify new trends and emerging patterns
  • Think globally as we work to expand our solutions around the world, adapting your understanding of local market needs, competitors, and pricing accordingly
  • Write compelling copy and clear internal docs. This is a writing-intensive role, and the bar for your writing is high: you’ll write crisp, vivid prose, with confident control over voice and tone
  • Create customer-facing assets that are polished, visually balanced, and consistent with Stripe’s brand guidelines. You need not be a designer, but you’ll need to have an eye for design, and be comfortable expressing concepts visually

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply.

Minimum requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience that can span marketing, product marketing, product management, operational roles, or strategy consulting
  • 5+ years of marketing or go-to-market experience
  • Experience working on marketing or growth throughout a product’s lifecycle
  • Experience working in B2B settings and with sales teams is preferred
  • Experience in payments or financial services is preferred but not required
  • We don’t expect you to have all these things (but the more the merrier!)

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $182,300 - $273,500. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
