Job Description

Story Health is an exciting startup reimagining cardiology and specialty care. Story Health is seeking a Head of Business Development to join our team. This critical senior leader will spearhead the development of Story Health’s VBC business, including fostering key payer relationships and other strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate for this role will be an exceptional performer that can think strategically and be biased towards execution.

Responsibilities

  • Craft Story Health’s value proposition and messaging to payers and other at-risk entities
  • Identify and prioritize key payers, ACOs, at-risk providers and other strategic partners to pursue
  • Manage partnerships end-to-end including sourcing, pitching, solutioning, negotiating and contracting
  • Own, nurture and expand existing VBC relationships
  • In partnership with Marketing, build awareness of Story Health in the market overall and with payers specifically
  • Create and refine novel VBC payment structures and terms
  • Deeply understand customer needs to inform product strategy and roadmap priorities
  • Be a key member of the Leadership Team, with focus on growing our people and culture
  • Over time, build a high performing team to scale Story Health’s VBC business

  • Strategic thinker that can ideate and evolve GTM strategy
  • Demonstrated skill in negotiating and closing critical partnerships
  • Experience selling to, or developing partnerships with, healthcare payers and/or other at-risk entities
  • Strong network of connections to payers and at-risk entities
  • 10+ years of experience driving commercial activities in healthcare
  • Comfort working in an early-state environment
  • Willingness to travel 25%+ of time
