The Role: SRE Manager

Main responsibilities:

  1. Form, lead and mentor a team of SRE engineers to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our AWS infrastructure and services.
  2. Define and implement best practices, standards, and processes for SRE operations, including incident management, post-incident analysis, and continuous improvement.
  3. Drive automation efforts to streamline operational tasks, infrastructure provisioning, and deployment processes using AWS services and DevOps tools.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security, to ensure alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.
  5. Establish and maintain service-level objectives (SLOs), service-level indicators (SLIs), and error budgets to measure and track system reliability and availability.
  6. Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to gain insights into system behavior, performance trends, and user experience.
  7. Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response efforts during service outages or disruptions to minimize impact on customers and business operations.
  8. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, resilience, and fault tolerance through proactive analysis, optimization, and automation.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and AWS best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, cloud operations, or infrastructure management roles.
    • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial position, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Skills and attitudes
    • Strong expertise in AWS cloud services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation.
    • Proficiency in scripting and automation using programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
    • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
    • Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
    • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) preferred.
    • Linux server management.
    • Able to establish conversation fluently in English.
