About Standard Bots
Standard Bots is building the next generation of industrial robots -- hardware that's powerful, affordable, and designed to scale. Our Glen Cove manufacturing facility is where that product comes to life, and keeping it clean, safe, and running right is foundational to everything we do. This role is central to that.
Note: This is a full-time, on-site role at our Glen Cove, NY manufacturing facility. Hours are 2nd shift (evenings).
We are unable to sponsor visas for this position.
The Role
We're looking for a Manufacturing Facility Janitor to keep our production floor, offices, and shared spaces clean, safe, and presentation-ready every single shift. A clean facility isn't a cosmetic concern -- it directly affects product quality, employee safety, and the impression every visitor takes away.
You'll work alongside production teams on the floor, coordinate with line supervisors around active workstations, and own your route end-to-end. When something's not right -- a spill, a clogged drain, a blocked exit -- you address it or escalate it. You don't walk past it.
You'll report to the Facilities Lead.
What You'll Do
Production Floor & Manufacturing Areas
- Sweep, mop, and scrub production floors on the assigned schedule
- Empty and re-line trash and recycling bins; haul waste to the appropriate disposal area
- Wipe down common surfaces, workbenches (non-active), break tables, and shared tooling stations
- Keep walkways, exits, and safety equipment (eye-wash stations, fire extinguishers, AEDs) clear and visible at all times
- Coordinate with line supervisors before cleaning around active workstations to avoid disrupting production
Restrooms, Offices & Common Areas
- Clean and disinfect all restrooms at least once per shift, more frequently as needed; restock soap, paper towels, and hand sanitizer
- Empty trash, vacuum carpets, mop hard floors, and wipe down surfaces in offices and common areas
- Clean and restock break rooms -- microwaves, counters, sinks, and coffee stations
- Clean glass doors, interior windows, and entryways
Waste & Recycling
- Consolidate trash and recycling from all assigned areas and move waste to the dumpster or designated pickup point
- Break down cardboard and route it into the recycling stream per facility procedure
Supplies & Equipment
- Track cleaning supply usage and flag the Facilities Lead before running low
- Use all chemicals according to label directions and SDS guidance -- no mixing, no substitutions
- Keep carts, vacuums, mops, and buckets clean, stocked, and stored properly at end of shift
Safety & Communication
- Follow all facility safety rules: PPE where required, wet-floor signs whenever floors are wet, lockout/tagout awareness around equipment
- Report any unsafe condition -- spill, leak, frayed cord, blocked exit -- to the Facilities Lead immediately
- Check in at the start of each shift for priority items or area restrictions; confirm route completion at end of shift
- Communicate early if you won't finish your route, supplies are running low, or you'll be out
What We're Looking For
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, chemical labels, and safety signage in English
- Physically able to stand and walk for the majority of an 8-hour shift, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, reach, and climb a step ladder, and push/pull cleaning carts and equipment
- Reliable transportation to the facility for evening shift hours
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent, dependable work ethic -- you finish what's on your list, every shift
Nice to Have
- Prior experience cleaning a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial facility
- Experience operating floor scrubbers, buffers, or other powered cleaning equipment
- Familiarity with OSHA workplace safety basics and SDS / chemical handling
- Forklift or pallet jack experience for moving waste or supplies
- Experience working in or around active production environments without disrupting operations
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, hourly position with a pay range of $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience. Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Standard Bots. All full-time employees are eligible for employee stock options. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k).
