In the rapidly-evolving world of web3 protocols, infrastructure projects, and dApp communities, the increasing complexity of discerning valuable signals from raw on-chain data is a pressing concern. These entities, rooted in the ethos of decentralization, recognize the paramount importance of crowd-sourced solutions.
Transitioning to the broader landscape, traditional businesses across diverse verticals face similar challenges. For smaller entities, the barrier to entry is high, often leading to prolonged trial-and-error phases and the daunting task of attracting top-tier data scientists and ML engineers. Similarly, more established entities may be restricted to a single ML approach, limiting their perspective. Conversely, there’s a worldwide global community of data scientists and ML engineers (who we call ‘modelers’) seeking to refine their ML expertise, engage with compelling real-world problems, network and collaborate with similar-minded individuals, and ultimately, receive a fair and sustainable compensation for their intellectual contributions.
At Spectral, we are building a platform that can connect modelers and creators. Our mission is to pioneer ML-powered insights' initiation, protection, dissemination, and consumption within an ownership economy. We believe in credible neutrality, ensuring that all interactions, even between unfamiliar actors, are rooted in trust and security. Our platform is designed to empower businesses and innovators to collaboratively transform challenges into opportunities, reshaping the future of collaborative problem-solving.
As a Product Manager (PM) at Spectral, you'll spearhead product development, from discovery to market launch, shaping the future of decentralized problem-solving. You will be working closely with the Engineering, Data Science, and GTM teams to manage and refine product feature requirements, maintain the Spectral roadmap, manage project risks, and track progress. You will have an opportunity to work with internal and external stakeholders and influence Spectral short and long-term vision. This position reports directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Spearhead cross-functional teams from the initial stages of product discovery to the final stages of delivery. Facilitate collaboration among Engineering, Data Science, and GTM teams to ensure alignment with Spectral's strategic product direction and goals.
- Define and Prioritize Product Features: Work closely with Engineering, Data Science, and GTM teams to define feature requirements. Prioritize these features based on user research, market needs, technical constraints, and alignment with Spectral's vision.
- Maintain and Update Product Roadmap: Regularly update the Spectral product roadmap to reflect current projects, future initiatives, and company objectives. Ensure that all stakeholders are informed and aligned on roadmap changes.
- Identify and Communicate Risks: Proactively identify project risks and roadblocks, and develop mitigation plans. Clearly communicate these risks to key internal stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is aware and aligned on action plans.
- Monitor Project Activities: Oversee all project activities from inception to completion. Ensure that milestones are met on time and that the project adheres to its scope and objectives. Implement agile methodologies to adapt to changing requirements and to optimize workflow.
- Establish Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Leverage these relationships to gather valuable feedback, influence Spectral's short and long-term vision, and facilitate collaboration across teams.
- Measure and Report Product KPIs: Measure key performance indicators to assess the success of every product release. Report these metrics to internal teams and stakeholders, and use the data to inform future product development strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, preferably in fast-paced tech or web3 companies. Experience in a data science or competitive ML company is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive product development from concept to launch.
- Strong technical acumen, with the ability to influence technical discussions, designs, and architectures.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to translate non-technical requirements into technical specifications.
- Proven experience in risk management and project tracking.
- Working knowledge of the blockchain space, specifically Ethereum and lending protocols.
- Expertise in backlog grooming, user flow, and story management in a JIRA/Kanban setting.
- Solid organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
This role is location agnostic anywhere in the world, but we ask that you overlap some working hours with Eastern Standard Time (EST). We are a fully distributed team and have the tools and benefits to support you in your remote work environment.
