As a Snap Engineering team member, you’ll help us build the future of communication.
We’re looking for an IT Client Engineer to join Snap Inc.
What you’ll do:
Working closely with the Information Technology team, you will play a critical role in managing and scaling our internal client management infrastructure. You’ll leverage JAMF, WorkspaceOne, Munki, Google Workspace Admin, and other tools to design, deliver, and support our global workforce.
An ideal candidate must exhibit a high level of professionalism in providing excellent customer service, and exercise sound judgment to provide timely resolution of problems. They must understand the office culture and maintain excellent relationships with global customers, business partners, and IT team members. You will:
Work within a team of 2-3 client endpoint engineers based in Snap’s Santa Monica headquarters to support and manage a global fleet of macOS, Windows, Ubuntu, ChromeOS, iOS and Android devices
Architect and engineer provisioning flows, application deployment, system configuration, patch management, and security compliance for the entire fleet
Regularly partner with Engineering Security teams and orchestrate vulnerability remediation at scale
Identify and implement automation solutions to reduce manual and repeating operational tasks
Handle escalations from IT Operations staff and provide training and documentation as necessary
Scope medium and large projects effectively and drive on-schedule delivery, working in bi-weekly sprints
Help mentor and cross-train engineers on your team, and be an advocate of knowledge sharing across IT
Stay updated on and incorporate industry best practices, trends, and standards to ensure Snap is on the cutting edge of IT advancements
Participate in Operational Excellence efforts including on-call rotations, incident response, change management, and post mortems
Must be able to work flexible hours, including potential shifts that align with U.S. working hours as required to support U.S.-based operations
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organizational and task management skills
Strong knowledge of desktop/enterprise security best practices.
Proficiency with scripting in any of the following or similar languages: PowerShell, Python, Bash, Go
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of technical experience managing and administering multiple platforms at scale
Preferred Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of endpoint management tools and practices for macOS, Windows, Linux, and ChromeOS
Proficiency administering macOS, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android operating systems
Experience managing environments with 2500+ endpoints
Experience administering mobile device management (MDM) systems such as JAMF, Workspace One, MobileIron, SimpleMDM, Maas360, MicroMDM, NanoMDM, Moysle, etc.
Familiarity with technologies like SSO login for macOS, Platform SSO, Autopilot for Windows, Google Zero Touch, Samsung Knox, Federated Apple Accounts, and Account-Driven Enrollment.
CCA, CMA, CJA or similar JAMF training
Other Mac, Linux or Network certifications
LDAP and Active Directory experience
Familiar with JIRA and/or Confluence for ticketing and documentation
