Snap Lab is home to our hardware products with a world-class research & development team. Next Generation Spectacles are our first pair of glasses that bring augmented reality to life.

We’re looking for a Software Engineer, Display Test to join the Snap Lab team at Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain and develop new features for a Python-based test framework for Spectacles test stations, including interfacing to new test equipment.

  • Help manage infrastructure on Google Cloud to handle the flow of test and assembly data from both internal and external partners using Python.

  • Develop internal tooling to aid cross-functional teams in performing root cause analysis of hardware and component issues.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Fluent in Python 3 with the ability to develop scalable modules for use in a factory test setting.

  • Strong software architecture design skills.

  • Proficient using Windows and Linux as development environments.

  • Expert using command line tools.

  • Proficient with git and using Github for collaboration.

  • Proficient in a low level language, such as C, C++, Rust or Zig.

  • Experience working with an RDBMS such as PostgreSQL

  • Experience in Test Driven Development.

  • Experience with image processing and analysis algorithms.

  • Experience working with issue tracking systems such as JIRA.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment using an Agile methodology.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience

  • 1+ years of experience in display quality testing, tuning, and evaluation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with PostgreSQL databases.

  • Google Cloud DevOps experience including deploying web applications to Google AppEngine.

  • Familiarity with Android and embedded Linux platforms.

  • Experience in firmware development.

  • Previous experience working closely with optical engineers.

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $114,000-$171,000 annually.


Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $108,000-$163,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $97,000-$145,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
