The Legal & Policy Team is Snap’s dedicated in-house law firm, policy consultant, lobbyist, thought partner, and all-around advisor. This team helps Snap do the right thing the right way, make better decisions, understand and manage risks, and creatively navigate challenges, both external and internal. We partner with Snap team members on a wide array of matters, including privacy, product, IP, commercial transactions, corporate governance, employment, acquisitions, litigation, and policy, and social impact. We’re looking for a Privacy Program Manager to join Snap Inc at our headquarters in Santa Monica!

What you’ll do:

  • Join a growing team responsible for managing the Snap privacy program globally, which will allow you to collaborate with members of Product and other legal teams, Security, Engineering, Design, and other teams throughout the company to support Snap’s strong privacy practices, including its world-class privacy-by-design program.

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of our privacy program

  • Work with cross-functional owners and stakeholders of our Federal Trade Commission (FTC) consent order controls

  • Assist the Data Protection Officer (DPO) office with data subject access requests and regulatory inquiries

  • Ensure compliance with internal privacy policies and assist with the implementation of new data protection and privacy laws and regulations

  • Audit our privacy program and conduct privacy vulnerability assessments

  • Own, manage and monitor our privacy objectives and key results

  • Manage privacy compliance projects

  • Review and update existing (internal/external) privacy policies and disclosures

  • Help to drive continuous improvement of Snap’s privacy-by-design framework over time, working closely with Snap’s Product Legal and Privacy Engineering teams

  • Create and conduct periodic privacy trainings across the company on a regular cadence

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and program management skills and the ability to work under pressure

  • Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the company on complex, multifaceted issues

  • Detail-oriented, business-friendly, and a team player, with an ability to think creatively and accommodate tight deadlines and business objectives

  • Passionate about privacy and a gatekeeper of our privacy principles

  • Strong work ethic and able to work independently and collaboratively with xfn partners

  • Great sense of humor

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience

  • 4+ years of privacy program management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on domestic and global privacy and data security issues, including the GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, Section 5 of the FTC Act relating to privacy, anti-spam laws, cookies regulation, and CCPA / CPRA

  • Certifications in data protection is a plus (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM)

  • Experience working at a fast-paced growing international organization

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $104,000-$156,000 annually.


Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $99,000-$148,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $88,000-$133,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
