Snap Inc is a technology company. We believe the camera presents the greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. Snap contributes to human progress by empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together. The Company’s three core products are Snapchat, a visual messaging app that enhances your relationships with friends, family, and the world; Lens Studio, an augmented reality platform that powers AR across Snapchat and other services; and its AR glasses, Spectacles.

Snap is a technology company, which contributes to human progress by empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together. Snap accomplishes this through development of augmented reality products that overlay virtual objects onto the world around you and allow you to capture those moments to seamlessly share with family and friends. Snap believes that this presents the greatest opportunity to improve the way we live and communicate. In order to provide these seamless AR experiences, Snap builds Artificial Intelligence ASICs which are optimized to save energy and maximize efficiency. We apply state-of-the-art engineering practices towards building our designs in advanced silicon nodes (5nm, and below).

You will be responsible for building all components needed to ensure that we deliver high-quality mass-produced silicon. In particular, this includes sort/scan/test vectors and hardware, characterization and qualification tests, yield improvement features, etc. You will optimize our production test program to ensure cost effective sort/test throughput. Your qualification hardware and software will place our silicon in varying operating environments, while validating whether our products adhere to specified performance, power consumption, heat dissipation, and signal integrity requirements. You will be responsible for monitoring yield and qualification metrics, and to continuously improve these metrics by improving our scan and qualification hardware, software and test vectors. You will work together with a world-wide network of external partners who provide test and qualification services. You will be integrated in a highly diverse international team of skilled engineers and scientists.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead Snap’s NPI process for ASIC development from concept to production ramp.

  • Collaborate with design, engineering and manufacturing teams in the development of custom ASICs which will be used in wearable devices that lead to exciting launches of hardware at Snap

  • Develop test plans in collaboration with the DFT team to ensure sufficient test coverage and capture of chip failures in production.

  • Select tester to be used in production together with our OSAT partner.

  • Develop test hardware with our partner (load board, socket, handler, probe card,...) to ensure efficient testing of our solution both in term of cost and test time.

  • Develop characterisation plan together with the foundry and engineering teams to ensure designs meet manufacturability goals in volume.

  • Analyse characterisation results to tune the process for optimal manufacturing.

  • Develop qualification plans according to latest industry standards to ensure product reliability (ESD, temperature, humidity, etc) requirements are met and by working in close collaboration with our OSAT partner.

  • Identify and mitigate risks in the product introduction process, implementing contingency plans as necessary

  • Monitor and report on project progress, performance metrics, yield and key milestones to stakeholders.

  • Analyze obtained yield and qualification results, in order to provide understanding of deviation from the specifications, and other anomalies.

  • Be an integral part of a highly diverse international team of skilled engineers and scientists, and a key driver of the team’s further growth

  • Oversight of our packaging development efforts

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of the methodologies and standards related to sort/test and silicon qualification.

  • Working knowledge of operating high-volume silicon test equipment.

  • Understanding of digital silicon design and DFT techniques

  • Experience with PCB design related to the development of test infrastructure

  • Experience with electronic lab procedures and operating lab equipment, etc

  • You have already successfully managed the NPI of at least one medium/high volume silicon product.

  • You are familiar with managing production ramp up

  • Solid understanding of programming and scripting related to the development of test infrastructure

  • Proactive, flexible, team player with can-do attitude and excellent problem analysis skills
