We are looking for a Data Scientist to join the AR Enterprise Services (ARES) data team in Berlin!
At ARES Data team, we build a Data platform and high quality accessible Analytic & Insights tools that provide trustworthy reliable data, drive the decision making process in ARES, and empower ML capabilities and needs of the Shopping Suite Features.
As a member of the ARES Data team and an experienced data science leader, you will accompany our products during its entire life cycle and autonomously derive and communicate actionable insights to senior leadership, product teams, and all stakeholders. You will guide and drive the decision making process of product roll out and performance optimizations, and solve critical business problems. You understand the data value chain and contribute to improvements with respect to tracking or other data production systems.
Job Responsibilities (“What you’ll do:”)
Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling to translate data into objective and actionable insights that enable timely informed business and product decisions in ARES
Collaborate closely with leadership and product teams to define and build critical business metrics and KPIs
Build creative, simple, and intuitive ways of delivering insights to leadership, product, engineering, and client-facing teams
Think creatively, proactively, and futuristically to identify and size up new opportunities within Snap's long term roadmap for data-scientific contributions
Understand the operational aspects of your product, including data quality requirements, and use this to participate in incident or hotfix investigation and resolution
Collaborate closely with engineering teams on defining and prioritizing critical analytical requirements needed for continuous product optimizations
You proactively drive data literacy and evangelize the highest data standards of excellence across the organization
Mentor and guide team members, foster a culture of collaboration and develop cross-functional partnerships
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Extensive knowledge of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analyses. Can confidently apply the right tools of analytics and machine learning for advanced trend and outlier detection
Ability to work with large amounts of data and communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner to leadership and product teams
Ability to create visuals, dashboards, reports, and data storytelling to effectively communicate your insights
Experience collaborating with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and other cross-functional teams
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to structure ambiguous business challenges into actionable insights and plans
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail
Ability to initiate, drive, and lead projects to completion autonomously
Record of training and mentoring others inside and outside the team
Minimum Qualifications
BS/BA degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, or equivalent years of experience
A minimum of 6+ years of work experience in analytics & data science or a related field
Fluency in SQL, and scripting languages such as Python
Strong experience in data visualization tools and data storytelling
Experience in AB testing, product optimization, and building data driven product solutions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a product focused role
Experience in having a leading role in Analytics and Data science teams
