Snap Lab is home to our hardware products with a world-class research & development team. Next Generation Spectacles are our first pair of glasses that bring augmented reality to life.

We're looking for an Experience Engineer, Augmented Reality to join the Snap Lab team!

What you’ll do:

  • Design, improve, and support reusable components and frameworks that enable immersive experiences and rapid prototyping.

  • Create experiences that push the boundaries of an AR platform, clearly communicate additional requirements for improving that platform, and contribute to the implementation of those new features.

  • Participate in code and design reviews

  • Interact with design, interactive engineering, and product teams to shape and launch products

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience developing highly interactive experiences such as games or high-end UIs

  • Expertise in designing, prototyping, and programming with real-time 3D engines (Unity, Unreal, OpenFrameworks, Processing, and WebGL/OpenGL, etc.)

  • Experience with next-gen UI frameworks like React, Flutter, Swift UI, etc

  • Knowledge in scripting languages like Javascript / Typescript

  • Familiarity with with RxJava, Dagger, and other Android development best practice tooling

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience

  • 11+ years of software development experience

  • Experience designing and developing real-time interactive experiences

  • Experience in one or more strongly typed object oriented languages like Kotlin, Java, C#, C++, or TypeScript

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Gameplay Engineer, Game Engine Developer, or Tools Developer in games

  • Experience with Graphics programming and / or 3D development

  • Mobile development experience

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

  • Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $230,000 - 335,000 annually

  • Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $219,000 - 318,000 annually

  • Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $196,000 - 285,000 annually

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
