The Finance Team includes Finance Business Partnership, Accounting, Finance Operations, Financial Systems, Internal Audit, Tax, Treasury, and Investor Relations teams. Together, the team partners with leadership to provide insights, information, and guidance to make strategic and operational decisions, inform investors about our business model and progress, and ensure the company is financially healthy and consistently meeting our reporting obligations.

We’re looking for a Head of Revenue Accounting to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Accounting team, you will lead, drive, and direct the global revenue accounting function including monthly revenue accounting close, coordination of quarterly reviews and audits, optimization of processes and internal controls and building, managing, and developing the accounting team.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead, manage and develop a high performing revenue accounting team, driving performance by setting goals and development plans and fostering an environment to achieve those goals through ongoing feedback

  • Own the revenue accounting close process globally

  • Drive efficiency, optimization, and automation of revenue related processes and continue to strengthen internal controls

  • Develop relationships and work closely with business partners to provide accounting and business support, including research and recommendations on accounting issues, changes in judgements and estimates that impact financial results, as well as implementation of accounting changes

  • Lead and actively participate in business initiatives and projects. Work cross-functionally with business partners on non-standard transactions, content partner arrangements and third party sales support, to align on the downstream impacts, controls and reporting needs for financial close. Lead the team to design and implement new processes and controls as needed

  • Partner with external auditors and manage audit requests to drive timely completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits

  • Be responsible for the timely execution of SOX controls across the revenue accounting team

  • Support M&A integration activities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Track record of motivating and managing a team

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP, especially experience with revenue recognition. Ability to capture the end-to-end process and determine areas of improvement, automation and refinement to allow for ability to grow and scale

  • Ability to work under pressure and perform several tasks concurrently in a deadline driven environment

  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills as well as strong business acumen (i.e. can identify risk and opportunity). Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization

  • Exceptional analytical skills, including Excel

  • A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Experience with a high-growth and fast-paced company, ideally in the technology or digital media industries

  • Experience working with Oracle/ARCS, Salesforce, and Ironclad

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Results oriented with a “can do” attitude and willingness to drive process change within the team, taking on additional responsibilities as needed

  • Flexible and able to adapt to the Company’s changing needs and priorities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Fiinance

  • 10+ years of combined experience in public accounting and in a leadership role at a public company (specifically with progressive experience in revenue accounting and reporting)

  • CPA designation required

  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing accounting teams

  • Extensive knowledge of US accounting standards, especially ASC 606, and SOX compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Big 4 firm experience

  • Fortune 500 company experience, ideally in the technology or digital media industries

  • Experience working with Oracle, Salesforce, or Ironclad

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

  • Zone A (CA): The base salary for this position is $175,000 - $250,000 annually

  • Zone B (Austin): The base salary for this position is $166,000 - $238,000 annually

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
