The Finance Team includes Accounting, Business Partner Finance, Finance Operations, Financial Systems, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, Tax, and Treasury teams. Together, the team partners with leadership to provide insights, information, and guidance to make strategic and operational decisions, inform investors about our business model and progress, and ensure the company is financially healthy and consistently meeting our reporting obligations.

We’re looking for a Manager, Tax Planning to join our Tax team! You will play a key role in planning and implementing Snap’s global tax strategy, collaborating with other members of our Tax team as well as colleagues throughout the company.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead structuring, negotiation, drafting, and post-acquisition integration with respect to US and non-US mergers and acquisitions

  • Lead structuring, negotiation, and drafting with respect to investments and capital markets activity

  • Develop and implement comprehensive tax solutions to support business objectives and international operations

  • Partner with Accounting, Legal, Treasury, and business teams to execute complex transactions

  • Support business expansion into new markets and lines of business

  • Research and document technical tax positions

  • Identify, research, document, and implement opportunities seeking cash tax and effective tax rate efficiencies

  • Draft, review, and revise legal and other documents from a tax perspective

  • Monitor and determine impact of global tax-related regulatory developments

  • Manage global and local tax advisor relationships

  • Support the Tax Operations team by providing technical tax analysis and other assistance with provision and compliance on an as-needed basis

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of core US and non-US international and M&A tax concepts

  • Experience working in Big 4 public accounting firm, corporate tax department, law firm, or combination thereof

  • Strong technical, research, and legal drafting skills

  • Strong writing skills and ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax colleagues

  • Ability to skillfully manage teams of third-party advisors across multiple jurisdictions

  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced informal work environment

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Great attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years of tax experience

  • JD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in taxation, CPA and/or LLM in Tax

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

  • Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $165,000 - $230,000USD Annually

  • Zone B: The base salary range/hourly rate for this position is $157,000 - $219,000 annually

  • Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $196,000 annually

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs
