About Slide

Slide is a modern, security-first Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) company built exclusively for Managed Service Providers. Founded by Austin McChord (Datto Founder & former CEO) and Michael Fass (former Datto General Counsel & Chief People Officer), Slide is led by a team with deep expertise in backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity.

Slide is a product- and engineering-driven company obsessed with delivering best-in-class experiences to our MSP partners. Built on a clean-room codebase free from legacy technical debt, Slide delivers the MSP-centric backup and recovery platform of the future: secure, performant, simple, and unburdened by outdated technology or restrictive pricing.

Slide is backed by General Catalyst, Base10 Ventures, and Outsiders Fund.

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to do real product work at a company small enough to move fast and backed well enough to scale. You'll own domains end-to-end - strategy, discovery, PRDs, launch, outcomes - including 0-to-1 products with real commercial stakes.

The right person is energized by ambiguity, knows the difference between output and outcomes, and has shipped enough to have real judgment. You think in systems, communicate across levels, and are already exploring how AI is changing the way product teams work; ready to help Slide figure that out in real time.

If you want to build something that matters and have your fingerprints on what Slide becomes, this is the role.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership

  • Own a product domain end-to-end including, strategy, discovery, scoping, launch, and iteration, and be accountable for outcomes, not just output
  • Think in vertical and platform lanes simultaneously; go deep on your domain without losing sight of how it fits the broader architecture

Discovery & Customer Insight

  • Lead discovery with MSP partners; build trust, uncover needs, turn insights into decisions
  • Design for the MSP operating model: serve the owner, technician, and their end clients across a multi-tenant, partner-channel context

Execution

  • Write PRDs engineering can build from confidently; shepherd tickets, remove blockers, keep work moving
  • Launch products from 0 to 1, including those with distinct billing, provisioning, and partner system touchpoints

Commercialization

  • Own commercialization end-to-end: packaging, pricing input, GTM readiness, and the instrumentation that ties usage to revenue
  • Collaborate with design on UX and contribute to marketing messaging and launch readiness

Evangelism & External Presence

  • Represent Slide externally: events, MSP relationships, product demos

AI Workflow Transformation and Feature Shipping

  • Actively help shape how Slide builds product, experimenting with AI tooling before best practices exist
  • Design for agents and automated systems as first-class API consumers alongside humans
  • Make deliberate decisions about where intelligence lives, native, integrated, or both

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including at least one 0-to-1 product launch with clear accountability for commercial outcomes
  • Proven ability to write high-quality PRDs and translate customer needs into actionable engineering work
  • Strong discovery and consultation skills; you know how to build trust with technical buyers and uncover latent needs
  • Excellent communication and executive presence; comfortable with MSP technicians, C-suite executives, and engineering leads in the same week
  • Enough engineering fluency to have credible conversations with developers and work comfortably with AI-powered tooling
  • A design sensibility; you care about how things look and feel and can give meaningful feedback in a design review
  • Experience supporting or leading commercialization across packaging, pricing, billing flows, GTM readiness, and revenue instrumentation
  • Systems-thinking mindset: you can hold the vertical problem space and horizontal platform implications in your head at the same time
  • Familiarity with SaaS billing, consumption-based pricing, or B2B platform products with multi-sided purchasing flows
  • Demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on a new domain and earn customer trust
  • Experience preferred in cybersecurity and/or Microsoft partner ecosystem: Azure, M365, CSP/MCA licensing, partner portal infrastructure, and how Microsoft goes to market through the channel.
  • Experience shipping AI-powered features in production
