Generative AI is crashing into organizations, careers, and livelihoods, yet the workforce is unprepared for this level of change. Therefore, we believe it's our job to enable every knowledge worker and team to become AI-powered, making them more productive and valuable in the marketplace.

As part of our growth, we are looking for a Business Development Lead who will serve as an SDR on the front line of our enterprise sales motion, building pipeline for our Fortune 500 AI transformation programs. You'll be replacing an SDR we're promoting to Account Executive — a path we're excited to replicate with the right person.

What you'll do:

Your responsibilities:

Qualify and develop inbound leads - Respond to inbound interest from enterprise prospects, conduct discovery conversations with Heads of AI, CIOs, CHROs, and transformation leaders, and schedule qualified meetings for our Enterprise Account Executives.

Execute strategic outbound prospecting - Build target account lists, research key decision-makers and organizational AI maturity, craft personalized multi-channel outreach sequences, and generate net-new pipeline through cold calling, LinkedIn engagement, and email campaigns.

Generate $2M in qualified pipeline monthly - Own pipeline creation metrics, manage opportunities through initial qualification stages in Salesforce, and maintain rigorous activity levels to consistently hit monthly targets while building relationships that set up long-term enterprise deals.

Leverage AI to scale your impact - Use AI tools daily to enhance research, personalize outreach at scale, synthesize call insights, and optimize your workflow. Ideally, you'll orchestrate AI agents to automate repetitive tasks and multiply your effectiveness across accounts.

Collaborate with Marketing and Account Executives on deal strategy - Partner closely with our Marketing Team and Enterprise AEs to understand ideal customer profiles, refine messaging based on what's working in deals, and ensure smooth handoffs that accelerate our sales cycles.

Learn the business and prepare for AE promotion - Immerse yourself in Section's AI transformation approach, understand our ProfAI and strategic services offerings, participate in customer calls, and develop the consultative selling skills needed to progress to Account Executive.

Who you are:

Must-haves:

● Minimum 1 year of full-cycle SDR/BDR experience with demonstrated track record of hitting or exceeding pipeline and meeting quotas

● Daily AI user who actively leverages AI tools to improve productivity, research, and work quality—you're comfortable being an early adopter

● Strong outbound prospecting skills including cold calling, email sequencing, and LinkedIn outreach with the resilience to handle rejection and iterate quickly

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage C-suite executives and translate complex AI concepts into business value

● Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and sales engagement tools to manage pipeline and track activities

● Self-starter mentality with strong organizational skills—you thrive in our "Super IC" culture where you own outcomes and don't wait to be told what to do

● Hunger to learn and grow quickly into an Account Executive role, with ambition to be closing enterprise deals within 6-12 months

Nice-to-haves:

● BONUS: HR SaaS or enterprise technology sales experience, particularly selling to People/Talent leaders

● BONUS: Experience using AI for prospecting, research, outreach personalization, or orchestrating AI agents to automate workflows

● BONUS: Familiarity with AI/ML technologies or working in the EdTech, learning & development, or organizational transformation space

● BONUS: Experience with Section's tech stack (ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Fathom, Zapier, N8N)

Special requirements:

● Must be located in US time zones for coverage of enterprise working hours

● Willingness to occasionally adjust schedule for West Coast prospect conversations

Compensation

Salary: $75,000 base

Variable: $40,000 commission at 100% attainment (OTE: $115,000)
