We are seeking a Manager of Depot Repair to build and oversee our repair, refurbishment, and upgrade operations for fielded autonomous surface vessels. As our platforms are deployed and returned from operational environments, you will lead the team responsible for triage, disassembly, repair, and return-to-service workflows—ensuring high reliability and rapid turnaround on mission-critical systems.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with experience managing depot-level repair operations in defense or ruggedized commercial hardware programs. You’ll develop the processes, staffing, and infrastructure required to scale long-term support across our growing installed fleet.
Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a depot repair team responsible for inspection, diagnosis, rework, and testing of returned vessel hardware.
- Develop triage and intake procedures, including standardized evaluation criteria and repair priority rules.
- Oversee documentation, traveler records, and work instructions for disassembly and re-integration workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering and production to support root cause analysis and implement reliability improvements.
- Maintain metrics on repair cycle time, field return rates, and component MTBF (mean time between failure).
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with supply chain for replacement part availability.
- Support warranty repair decisions and customer communications in collaboration with program teams.
- Develop and maintain repair facility layout, safety practices, and technician training programs.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in depot-level repair, maintenance, or hardware sustainment operations.
- Proven track record building and managing teams in hands-on technical environments.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting fielded defense or aerospace platforms.
- Familiarity with return logistics, reliability engineering, and maintenance planning.
- Background in early-stage company operations and post-deployment hardware support systems.
