Key Responsibilities:
- Research and interpret complex accounting matters, providing guidance and draft memorandums, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards. Topics include, but are not limited to, debt and equity transactions, leases, capitalized software costs, business combinations, and segment reporting.
- Participate in month-end close activities as needed, which may include tasks related to equity accounts, intercompany transactions, and debt related journal entries.
- Responsible for preparation of financial statements including the statement of equity, statement of cash flows, and calculation of basic and diluted earnings per share.
- Assist in financial reporting responsibilities, including investor reporting, debt covenant compliance, statutory reporting, and other ad-hoc reporting requirements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Support mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, valuation, opening balance sheet procedures, drafting relevant memos, and facilitate related audit requests from Saronic’s external auditor.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Corporate Development to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information.
- Support the Accounting team in the establishment, documentation, and maintenance of key accounting and business policies, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze new and proposed accounting standards issued by the SEC and the FASB to determine the impact on Saronic and implement new accounting standards, as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or equivalent certification highly preferred.
- 6 - 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, ideally with a mix of public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and in-house corporate experience; strong candidates with solely public accounting backgrounds will also be considered.
- Deep understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls and audit processes.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting technical accounting memos and policies.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or government contracting is highly desirable.
