Role Overview
We're looking for a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Engineer to own and evolve our MES platform in alignment with Saronic’s approved processes. You will guide MES usage across our team, improve operational workflows, and drive digital transformation on the shop floor. This is a high-impact role with visibility across engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
Responsibilities

- Act as the primary owner and subject-matter expert for all things MES — from training and documentation to troubleshooting and feature enhancement.
- Design and optimize process flows within MES to streamline manufacturing, assembly, and testing operations.
- Develop and maintain core dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools; support teams in building their own dashboards and analytics.
- Implement automation layers and extend MES functionality using Python and SQL to connect MES to other systems or improve workflow efficiency.
- Partner with engineering, supply chain, quality, and production teams to ensure MES supports day-to-day execution and long-term scalability.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a super user or systems lead across multiple MES software platforms (e.g., ION, Tulip, Ignition, Plex, Katana, etc.).
- Strong process thinking and ability to translate manufacturing workflows into structured MES designs.
- Solid experience with Python and SQL for creating automations, data pipelines, or custom MES extensions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Software, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or 5+ years of highly relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally and thrive in a fast-moving startup environment.
